A LIE AND A TRUTH

Maribel asked Toni to follow her to a weird abandoned forest, they walked for a couple of minutes until they finally arrived at a weird house. it looked old and empty but instead of walking into the house as Toni expected, Maribel walked to the back of the house where there was a beautiful garden.

"Why are we here?" Toni asked. Maribel was quiet staring at the garden full of roses. They were all different colors.

Maribel didn't respond she was staring at the garden with her eyes locked on each rose.

"Maribel?" Toni tried again. It's been more than ten minutes since Maribel stopped talking to just stand to stare at the roses.

"I talked with someone" Maribel finally said.

"..." Toni was quiet waiting for Maribel to say more. She was not understanding why the roses were important.

"They told me that the answer was going to be here," Maribel said staring at the roses with tears in her eyes. whatever those roses meant it was something big and important for Maribel and maybe Minerva.

"Are you okay?" Toni asked.

"Grab a few roses and let's get out of here"

Toni did what Maribel asked her to do and waited for her to talk again or give her some directions on what to do next.

sometime later after Maribel walked around the place without saying anything they finally left the garden.

They walked to an empty restaurant near their cars.

"Can you feel it?" Maribel asked.

"What?" Toni asked confused.

"The person you love"

Toni closed her eyes and focused on what she was feeling but nothing was happening she was feeling normal.

She felt Maribel's hands on her shoulders. Toni slowly opened her eyes

Maribel was holding a white rose.

"This rose is what we were looking for," Maribel said giving the rose to Toni.

"What does it mean?" Toni said holding the rose in her hand. it was a beautiful rose but it looked like every other rose, she didn't know why or how this rose was special.

"Minerva must be free"

"Free?" Toni asked, wondering what Maribel meant by free.

"Whatever Minerva is doing she is doing it because she wants to.... not because someone is behind it... Only a few people can use roses with magic and if Minerva was ever under a spell too she is free now" Toni took a couple of seconds to take in the new information, she knew Minerva must be able to do some kind of magic but all of this was too much.

"Is that good?" Toni asked,

"She is still part of them... I don't understand" Maribel looked confused and sad as if she was sad for Minerva to be part of something.

"The necklace Cheryl was wearing... It was golden"

"Minerva did it... That woman... Cheryl must be under a spell..."

Toni didn't believe what she was hearing... a spell? why would Minerva do that? Cheryl looked and acted normal

"Does it mean that Cheryl is with her because of that?" Toni was scared of the answer. if Cheryl was with Minerva because of a spell that makes things so much worse than Cheryl loving Minerva because it meant that Cheryl was forced to love someone she doesn't love.

"Yes... And this never ends okay" Toni was shaking a little. she could not imagine Cheryl being under a spell... how is she going to help her and how is she going to break it?
