Chapter 4

how'd..how'd i get caught up in this sort of situation?
"So.. you're the fiance?"
"Yes.. who are you?"
"That doesn't matter, you're all bones, i wonder why she likes you."
Isis, that's the crown prince, you're gonna get us killed!
"Ah! Hmph!!"
"Aha, Isis, how about we leave, i'll visit you in the afternoon."
"Fine!"
...As soon as Isis left, silence quickly filled the air, the crown prince had a pouty look on his face with his hands crossed, "Your highness.. are you alright?"
"No! Does Reni like younger men!?" what was this question? Even i would be concerned if someone of higher status asked me this "N-no?" , as weird of a question as it is, i'll still have to answer it. "Is that so? I'm glad.." only a slight mumble could be heard, the rest of the breakfast had proceeded smoothly.

"Come Cassis, i'll walk you back to your room."
"No! I can walk Renia to her room before anything else!"
"Your highness, you're malnourished, i'm worried you'll collapse by the time you get to my room"
"R-Reni has a kind heart" , looking over at that kid his ears turned red.
He entered his room safely and gave me a warm smile, about the book i borrowed, i quickly dashed to my room to find it.
"There it is!"
"This story... the female lead arrives on my 13th birthday? I'm 10 right now so 3 years left.."
3 years, naturally it would seem like a good time but i have to cut off all connections i can it that 3 years, Isis wouldn't let me go if it's too dangerous and Cassis lives in the house. Should i just run away? I'll leave a note behind for my parents but i'll run away and live in a faraway town. That'd be good enough wouldn't it.

Everyday was a day filled with Cassis, he had come to my room from the time i woke up to the time he had to return, i barely got any sleep this way as i ended up studying about the original novel and memorising contents, and soon.. three years had passed.

My lady, happy thirteenth birthday"
Right, 4 seasons had passed 3 times and now, i'm finally thirteen.
"RENI!! HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY!!"
Yet again, this kid seems to be bursting into my room like he did on my previous birthdays, what had changed in these 3 years was that he ate and trained well, he ended up being more handsome than i thought, my relationship with him had also gotten better, what hasn't changed was how i acted though, "Yes, i'm finally 13 now Cassis. Though i'd really love to prepare but unfortunately you're here"
"I forgot Reni, will you forgive me this time?"
"You do this everytime and i always end up forgiving you."
The once malnourished child had quickly fled from the room.
"My lady, what would you like to wear today?"
Despite it being my birthday, i decided to not host a birthday banquet. It'd be too troublesome to run away in such a crowded area so i feigned illness.
"Something casual, anything that's not too decorated"
"Alright!"
"After this i'd like to go out on a walk, tell my parents that i'll be out of the estate"
"Yes my lady."

I never thought a day where i'd really run away would arrive. In my past life i was a coward, only running away from my problems and never solving them, i know this isn't a good option but it's the only thing i can think of, there's no guarantee the original novel will proceed but that's what I am, a coward.
Goodbye, the place that Renia called home.
