Cana had challenged Hiro to a drinking competition, and the only reason the girl didn't partake was because Erik said she couldn't. He threatened to make her sleep in the doghouse, which isn't really a doghouse. It's more like a mini shed, with blankets covering a corner of the floor and pillows lined up along that wall.
It's not uncomfortable, but its also not comfortable
So Hiro didn't drink Cana under the table, though she knew for a fact she could've. A dragon stomach makes things like that easy, they'd have to drink enough to kill a weaker man to get tipsy, after all.
So, she had been sewing a new doll, one of Miss Yukino, when Laxus had grabbed her by the back of her collar.
"ACGH-"
"Come on," the blonde said blandly, "I have a mission and you're coming with."
Hiro's small hands scrambled at the back of his own, until she managed to climb up onto his shoulders.
The city the job was in was a place called Volwatt. Hiro's passed through a few times, not in a long while, though. It used to be a bustling city, full of life and sound.
Now, it's just desolate. Empty. Quiet.
She can see people looking through their windows, watching them in fear.
Hiro stuck a finger out into the air, shaking her hand with a giggle when she was shocked by the static.
"The air's full of electricity!" She exclaimed, a smile on her face, "I've never seen anything like it!" And she turned, nearly falling off Laxus' shoulders as she burst into laughter, "YOUR HAIR!"
"Well, this city is a lightning tod exhibition if I've ever seen one." Evergreen complained.
"Ain't no on outside!" Bickslow looked around, spotting them in the windows.
"I wouldn't be either, under these circumstances." Freed crossed his arms.
Then, Hiro's giggling ceased, and her head shot straight up, eyes on the sky.
"It's coming, Babba." She murmured quietly, slipping from his shoulders.
The two of them started forward as the lightning shot towards the lightning rods atop every building.
"Looks like a rave." She said again.
"Well," Bickslow grinned as a tree fell, "ain't that something!"
"No wonder the entire city is electrified." Freed finished.
The moment the lightning stopped, the three followed after the dragon slayers.
Then, they stopped.
Laxus raised an arm, and Hiro made sure her cloak was over her shoulders as two volts of lightning shot down from the sky.
The two met them head on.
Laxus' didn't even flinch, and no one saw Hiro's small grimace.
"This is annoying." Hiro growled. The lightning felt weird. It felt...old.
Laxus didn't even blink. The second the lightning stopped, he sent a massive volt up into the sky.
"Lightning Dragon, ROAR!"
The clouds dissipated. Hiro clapped, scurrying back up onto his shoulders.
