The day was coming to a close as almost all the clubs that were doing any activities after class were all almost gone having wrapped up for the day. You and the basketball club were also done for the most part, but you had chosen to stay for a bit more practice by yourself. You were stood at the three point line with sweat dripping off your face like crazy and a completely sweat-soaked shirt as you shot one last three, draining it without the ball even touching the rim as it splashed through the net. You were huffing heavy breaths as you used your arm to wipe off some sweat off your face, but your attention was taken away from the basket when you heard the sound of the gym door opening.

"Jeez, how long are you going to keep me waiting?" You turned around to see Rin walking towards your bag where you had a towel set down. "Hurry and change, we can still make it to the last train." She said as you walked over and she handed you the towel.

"You could have gone home without me, you know?" You said while drying your face of sweat as you grew intrigued when Rin began rummaging around in her bag.

"You would have been here longer if I hadn't came to get you. Knowing how you operate, the last train would have left a long time ago and you'd have had to walk home." Rin said as she pulled out your clothes and shoes. "Change here, I'll hand over your shoes once we're outside." She said as you were confused on how she got your clothes.

"How'd you get my stuff?" You asked as she pointed towards the door.

"I walked into your locker room." Rin said with no problem as you went into a cold-sweat and stared at her strangely.

"Was there anyone in there?" You asked.

"Yeah. Why?" Rin asked as you sighed tiredly.

"Hahh...Nevermind. Mind turning around?" You asked as she did so and you began to undress.

"Hey, did that thing really happen earlier?" Rin asked as you looked up at the back of her head with a raised brow. "That thing with Akane..." She asked as you grew a saddened look on your face upon remembering the incident.

"Yeah..." You said while pulling up your pants and buttoning them before fixing your belt.

"How is she?" Rin asked as you slipped your arms through your button-up shirt and she turned around while you were still hiding your abs away, making her blush slightly.

"I don't know, really. She seemed off earlier, but just played it off." You said while finishing up your shirt as Rin noticed the solemn look on your face. "If only I had been there to protect her sooner..." You trailed off before your face was suddenly smooshed by Rin's hands.

"You did protect her, Y/N. You're a good brother. I'm sure she'll appreciate you more now and open herself up to you a bit more." Rin said reassuringly.

"I-I shee..." You said through your smooshed face as she released you and you grabbed your things to head out. "Well, let's not let the last train get away. Let's go." You said as the two of you headed off home.

After heading to the train station, and barely managing to catch the last train back home, you and Rin rode along in the almost empty train car as the two of you remained silent the entire ride. You two were sat on the long seat row next to each other as you stared out to the lights of the buildings outside, but while staring into space, you felt a weight gently fall onto your left shoulder. Turning your head, you were surprised to see Rin had fallen asleep and was lightly breathing peacefully while leaning against you comfortably. Chuckling quietly from being humored by this, you let her sleep and turned to look back outside as you began to think about what Akane wanted to talk about. You figured that it had something to do with how wild you looked when beating up her attackers, and when you thought that was what she wanted to talk about, you felt worried that she would be afraid of you. Your thoughts were interrupted by the train intercom alerting you that the station you needed to get off at was next, and seeing as Rin didn't wake up yet, you decided to let her continue to sleep as you positioned yourself to carry her on your back. Wrapping her arms around your neck and getting her to lean onto you, your hands slid up gently on the underside of her legs before you managed to get a good grip on her thighs and stand up with her on your back, as your two hands were filled with yours and her bag. Feeling the train come to a stop and the doors open up, you walked out onto the platform of the station and looked around to see there was no one around and you made your way to the exit of the station. The walk from the station to your home was a quiet one as the streets barely had anyone on them, except for a few people who would be outside minding their own business, or would enter some of the stores that were still open at night. You marched all the way back home with Rin on your back as you stood at the gate, wondering how you were going to ring the buzzer to let anyone know you were home. Just as you were about to press the buzzer with your nose, the gate suddenly opened and walking out from the other side, your father came into the light with Amanda at his side.
