Chapter 10

Three Weeks Later

It's been three weeks since the incident when you got out of the hospital and for the most part, you were able to walk fine without any support and you were begging your training to get back into top form for the upcoming scrimmages the basketball club were going to be participating in. You were at your shoe locker putting your outdoor shoes away when you felt someone tap you on your right shoulder. Turning to your right, you saw a three girls you didn't really recognize, but they seemed to know you since they had such interested stares in their eyes.

"Good morning, Y/N!" One of the girls said with high energy.

"We heard that you're almost done with your recovery. Are you going to be rejoining your teammates in the basketball club?" Another girl asked as you closed your shoe locker.

"Yeah. I've already started training to run normally again." You said as you adjusted your book bag on your shoulder.

"That's great! When we heard you were hurt, everyone was worried about you, but we believed that you'd be back in top form in no time! When your games start, we'll be there to support you!" The last girl of their group spoke as you could help but smile.

"I see. Thanks, guys." You said before growing a surprised look when a three letters with heart stickers were suddenly shoved in front of you.

"With all that said, we're crazy in love with you and don't mind sharing. We love you! Please go out with us!" This conversation suddenly took a left turn out of no where as you were completely confused on how to even answer this question.

"Hmmmm..." You suddenly felt a dark aura radiating behind you as you nervously turned around to see Akane intimidatingly glancing at you from the corner of her eye as she faced her shoe locker. "Playboy scum..." She said with an annoyed face you felt that comment stab you through the chest.

"Ahahaha~! Good one, Akane!" Suzu suddenly appeared and wrapped her arm playfully around Akane. "Y/N, you playboy scum~!" Suzu said in a teasing manner as you felt another metaphorical arrow strike you in the back.

"Okay, that's enough play you guys." Ume walked over to where you guys were and grabbed you by the shoulders as you were unresponsive and lifeless from the effect of Akane's complaint. "You girls, get to class now before your teacher shows up." Ume said as she pushed you along while you muttered strange things.

"Hmmm? What's wrong, Big Brother~?" Suzu poked your face playfully as she was amused from your shattered demeanor.

"Playboy...Me...? I...didn't do...huh...?" You muttered with lifeless eyes as the vice-president pushed you along to class, meanwhile Akane couldn't help but crack a small smile while facing her shoe locker.

After that little playful exchange at the shoe lockers, you continued your day of school like everyone else. You paid attention to your teachers in all your classes, had lunch with your friends like normal, and spent the rest of your time at school in practice with the basketball club. Whilst you were practicing with your team, Suzu had gone ahead home while Akane said she wanted to stay back to spend some time alone studying in the library. Though this was only half-true, because while she did spend some time in the library doing schoolwork, it was only homework that she finished and she spent the rest of her time on her phone while waiting for your practice to end so you and her could go home together. After the incident and deciding to pursue a forbidden relationship with your step-sibling, Akane was gung-ho about her feelings for you and wanted to spend all her time with you. After waiting in the library long enough and the sun had finally set as night took over, Akane was scrolling through her phone before she saw a text notification alert her, she didn't even open it to know you were done with practice as she grabbed her things and left the main school building. She walked out the main entrance of the school and headed towards the gym where she saw an open door with the lights still on inside. Akane smiled knowing she'd be able to score more alone time with you tonight, and as she walked through the threshold of the door, she opened her mouth to call out to you.
