[Sorry for leaving you like that.]
OK, OK, OK. What?
"Mom?"
She smiled at us and nodded. Both Ewan and me ran and hugged her.
"I'm sorry that I couldn't stay with you. It must have been very painful."
Tears where rolling down my cheeks, and I couldn't bring myself to say anything until we broke apart.
"Then, you are a Knight?" Asked Ewan.
She nodded again and this time she stopped smiling and looked at my dad.
"Darius, how is she? Is she ready?"
"As ready as can be, she has never fought and hasn't awakened but, once she does it'll be alright."
"Thank you," and she smiled again. This time it was dad's turn to hug her and cry.
"Ready? For what?" I asked.
Both of them looked at me. Mom looked simpathetic and dad a little upset.
"I'll explain when we get there."
She adjusted her belt, which held her sword and she led us through the mountains and into the next town.
I was completely speechless. My mom was back, and she was a Knight! That explained everything! That's why she couldn't be with us, she was busy destroying Neos.
It wasn't long before we got to the next town. We ate there and I tried to ask again what they meant by ready. I hoped she meant I would become a Knight, but I was afraid that she would say I wasn't going to become one. And actually, I was afraid I might become one. What if I was bad? What if I couldn't save anyone? I wasn't strong so I couldn't be a good Knight.
But they still kept quiet about it, saying that once we were at Ronwour she would explain everything.
The path kept us going upward and soon it began getting colder and colder. We got our jackets out and covered ourselves with it. Being summer, we didn't need thick jackets, but it was still pretty chilly.
"We aren't far from Ronwour now," said my mom, "it's less than an hour away."
It was almost dusk when we arrived at the a big fortified wall. We had a arrived at the Northern Capital, Ronwour.
Ronwour was known for being a rough, military place, but it was also known for having a lit of hot springs in its outskirts and beautiful scapelands.
Once at the main door a couple of guards blocked our way, saying.
"Who goes there? What's your business here?" They had a very harsh accent.
They seemed awfully rude and had to bite my tongue before retorting.
My dad stepped up and said.
"We are a family from Heron, and we came here for a family vacation," I felt really nice from hearing family with my mom beside me.
"Well, you're gonna have to turn back, it's not safe right now and we don't want any outsiders in our city," the one talking, a tall, dark haired man, and his companion, a younger looking , smaller, with short brown hair, seemed very tired. I guessed there really were some troubles.
Now it was my mom's turn to step up, I saw her reach out to something on her pouch, it was some kind of badge, and saying, "Please?''
Bother men had a frightened look on their eyes and let us through. I was courious about that badge and asked her what it was.
