The next morning, I woke up in Jake's arms and kissed him good morning. "Hey, sweetie."

"Hey, honey!" he yawned. "Did you sleep well?"

"I did! I can't wait to marry you!"

"Nor I you!"

We kissed each other tenderly, and then we heard someone groan. "Shut up, you two. We're trying to sleep."

I looked over the bed and saw Rain and Logan lying on an air mattress.

"When did you two get here?" I asked.

"Last night." Logan yawned. "Laura let us in while y'all were asleep."

"How'd it go with -" I cut off mid-sentence when I noticed Rain about to cry, so I sent Jake and Logan downstairs so we could talk.

I closed the door behind them and asked what was wrong.

She started sobbing. "Bloody Mary kicked me out!"

"What?" I gasped. "What all happened?"

"Dad was gone when we got home and Mary was supposedly asleep. So, Logan and I snuck to my bedroom and waited for him to return. I was trying to figure out how to tell him that I was pregnant and Logan was comforting me when Mary barged in, having overheard everything."

"What did she say?"

"She said, 'You little harlot! You soiled yourself and this family by creating a child out of wedlock? This baby you are carrying is an abomination to God! How can you live with yourself knowing you've disgraced us with your promiscuity?' That's when I punched her face and told her that the only abomination to God was her and her hypocrisy."

"And she kicked you out?"

She nodded. "She yelled at us to leave when my dad came in. She told him about my pregnancy and that she kicked me out. That's when Logan asked if I wanted to get married and I said okay. My dad objected at first, but Mary said it was for the best and sent us out. So, Logan and I left and dad texted me, saying that we'd talk more today."

"When will he be here?"

She looked at my clock. "In over an hour!"

I clasped my hands. "That'll give us time to cook breakfast! Let's go!"

I was cooking my specialty ham and cheese omelets, chocolate chip waffles, and sausage patties, while Rain cooked her strawberry pancakes, bacon, and buttermilk biscuits. Everything took an hour to cook and when we were done, we called everyone to the kitchen and started eating when the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!" Laura said, heading for the door.

Knowing who it was, Rain started to panic and Logan and I had to calm her down. Then, a few seconds later, Laura returned with Mr. and Mrs. Fuller behind her.

Rain struggled to speak. "Hello, daddy! Hey, Mary!"

"Good morning, pumpkin!" Mr. Fuller replied. "How have you been?"

"Okay. Do you want some breakfast? Hales and I made plenty."

"That won't be necessary." Mary answered. "We're not staying long. We just came to tell you that you can come by the house and get your things while we're at evening service. It will be less emotional and annoying."

My mom was fuming. "What? You're still kicking her out? Look, I don't like the fact that Haley's pregnant, either, but I'll be damned if I turn my back on her. Rain needs you. You can't abandon her at a time like this!"
