It didn't go any quicker. The day was rather slow. But it eventually ended with nothing else happening. I sat down on my bed, glancing at the clock. It was 10:30 at night, and I just wanted to go to bed. I glanced at my phone, noticing that I still had no texts from Kawahara, which was strange. I expected her to be busy with everything, but I still thought I'd have heard something by now. What even is the time where she is? She's in Tokyo. And it's currently 5 am. And it takes over 18 hours to get there, so she'll probably still be asleep on the plane. That makes sense why I haven't heard anything.
I sighed, deciding to go to sleep. I'll message her in the morning. I looked at the clock one last time, and the next time I looked at it it was morning. 9 am. Great time to start my day. I got up and got ready and was basically just on my phone for the next hour before leaving to meet Free. He was probably gonna be late, knowing him. It seems to be a running trend with that team.
"So," I heard a voice and shivered upon recognition of who it was, "I heard that you're going to meet Free."
My guard was instantly up as I turned to face Theodore, who still held the same smirk as yesterday. "What do you want?"
"Nothing. I am merely an observer this time." He told me, amused by the whole situation, which only angered me. How could he find humour in this?
"What do you mean by that?" I inquired, almost scared to know the answer, and he chuckled. What's changed?
"Haven't you heard the rumours? Valt Aoi has lost his mind and is now posing as a masked blader. And you just let him walk away." Theodore gave a menacing smile, and I glared at him. "Now, now. Don't give me that look. I merely stirred the pot. You were the ones who went to such trouble to put on such a show. But if you go and join your friend, people won't blame you - they're practically expecting it from you."
I turned my back to him. "Why should I listen to anything you have to say? I know what Valt's capable of, and if he does lose it then the consequences would be a lot dire than this."
"Well, then it's something to keep your mind on while you ponder your worth." You could hear the smugness in his voice as he walked off, and my hand gripped onto Doomscizor. I felt the edge cut into my hand, the only thing keeping me sane at this stage.
I started walking towards BC Sol, Theodore's words in my mind. What if he was right? I mean, what do I know? And what difference would it make, whatever side I'm on? I pushed the thoughts to the back of my head, trying to ignore the nagging feeling I had. When I reached BC Sol, and the fountain came into view, I saw Free waiting there, tired. Well, that's a change. He's actually on time. This must be serious. Or worth his time and interest. Either is a great concern to me if I'm honest.
"Someone sure took their time," Free said when he finally noticed me. I looked at my phone. I was actually twelve minutes early, but I guess we'll just ignore that.
"So why'd you wanna meet?" I queried, curious and wanting to get straight to the point. Today's already had a cruddy start to it.
"Come with me," Free insisted before walking off, not giving me much of a choice. I followed him, and we walked into the forest, eventually reaching his rundown stadium. "Do you believe in fairytales?"
