I kicked open the door to Kris' office, no longer knowing how to just open it normally, and she gave me an annoyed look but had given up on scolding me about it. Or she sensed it wasn't the right time to do so. Who knows? "What do you want, Kawahara?"

I pointed at his mark, and her eyes widened in shock. I looked at Valt, who looked uncomfortable with all the attention on him and his mark. I sighed. "We need to talk about this, Valt."

Valt nodded in agreement, obviously knowing this talk was gonna come sooner or later. He was probably preparing himself for it on the way here. I almost feel bad for him. "Please, sit down."

Kris nodded to the sofa that she had in her office, which is usually used as my bed in the morning, and I have to say, it's the comfiest sofa I have ever slept on, and I would recommend this to everyone. It's totally worth it. We all sat down, Free having closed the door behind him, and Kris looked between the three of us, looking unsure of where to start. I decided to break the uncomfortable silence. "So do you need the details, or do you know what's going on?"

"The details would be nice," Kris said, rubbing her temples. She looked stressed. She deserves a holiday and a long one at that. We are stressful to deal with. I looked at Valt, who had a serious look on his face. He's learning. That's a good sign. He knows when to put on a serious face.

"Lui Shirosagi is my soulmate," Valt said, trying to brave his way through it. I have never known the guy to be this nervous, let alone sound it. "And we are forbidden lovers." Valt touched his mark, a sad look in his eyes. "I understand that that means I may not be able to stay here, and I accept that. I don't wanna put the team in danger."

Our little wonder boy has grown up. He is no longer just a boy. He knows when to put the safety of others before his own, knowing full well it could cost him his life. Not many people are brave enough to do that. I wonder if Daigo would have the courage to push forward if something like this were to happen to him. I'm sure he'd need a little guidance, but he'd get there eventually.

"Meeting terminated, get back to your room, get some rest, you're absolutely fine. Make sure you're fighting fit for the next tournament, and if you're not you'll be in trouble." Kris instructed, and Valt stared at her, surprised.

"B-but my mark." Valt covered the mark on his face, almost as if he was ashamed of it. Nobody should be ashamed of the mark that binds them to their soulmate, whether it's forbidden or not. Love is love, it doesn't matter what side you're on. But, they do say that history hates lovers.

"If anyone has anything to say about it, they've got an entire team to get through," Kris said with a small smile on her face. "And let me tell you, these people are no pushovers when it comes to fighting back. We've learnt from the best."

Valt smiled, his eyes lighting up in glee, and the whole room seemed to light up as well. That's a good power to have. The power to bring happiness wherever you go, with something so simple as a smile. A power many people wished they had. "Thank you, Kris."

"Alright, now that's over and done with, can I sleep here?" I asked, and Kris sighed. Valt let out a small chuckle and Free gave me a knowing smile. "What?"

"Go to your own room. Your sofa is just as good as this one." Kris told me

"Fiiiiine." I let out a grunt of annoyance before pulling out my phone and looking for Daigo's contact. He knows about this, without a doubt, so I might as well reassure him about it, otherwise, he's gonna be worrying his pretty little butt off about Valt.

The three of us walked out of Kris' office, and I dialled Daigo's number, putting the phone to my ear. When he answered, I went to speak, but the phone was taken out of my hand, and I turned around to see Free holding the phone. He winked at me. "Hey, Daigo, you think you can meet up in three days?"

"Three days? Uh, sure." You could hear the confusion in Daigo's voice as he answered. "But why do you wanna meet?"

"Nothing important, just need to talk to you about something," Free said, hanging up the phone, and I just stared at him. What in the name of beybread was that about? I cocked an eyebrow at Free, who threw my phone at me. "You'll thank me later."

Free walked away, and I just stared after him. "What the hell do you mean I'll thank you later? You are solving none of my problems right now, and I could honestly use help with all of them. And Daigo is the least of my worries right now."

"Won't be for very long. You're leaving in two days, right?" He asked, stopping and glancing at me. My eyes widened in surprise.

"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked, my anxiety levels soaring, and I started fidgeting. Why did he have to mention me leaving? It's not even like I'll be gone for a short time. It's a seven-week trip.

"Theodore Glass is back if you hadn't already noticed, and you saw what happened with that Shu kid, and the rest of the bladers under his control. If he really wanted to cause havoc then he would go after markless bladers like Daigo, and possibly even Lui. Probably even Valt, knowing the power Valt holds. And because everyone is here, it's easier for him to get to us." He narrowed his eyes at me, watching my reaction, knowing I was gonna get crushed by the knowledge. "Just something for you to think about on your plane trip."

Free walked away, turning into the forest rather than the dorms, and I honestly wanted to melt into the ground. If Theodore gets to any of them then the aftermath will be devastating. This could end people. I gripped my phone tighter. I don't know what to do. Should I stay or should I go? I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I looked at Valt, who had a determined look in his eye.

"Theodore won't win, I promise. You go on your trip, and I'll keep tabs on things here." Valt told me before giving me a sickly sweet smile. "I'm not called the wonder boy for nothing. And anyway, I know what I'm doing. You have nothing to worry about."

I smiled, glad to have someone I can trust and believe in. He's not reliable 24/7, but he's reliable when it counts. That's our wonder boy for you. Always knows what to do and say. It's a blessing, actually. "Thanks, Valt."

We both walked towards the dorms, talking about the most random things, and it seemed to lighten the mood a lot. I felt good about leaving again. There was a small voice of doubt, but there was bound to be.
