"You ready to go then?" I asked, and the two of them nodded. We all got up, put our plates away and then headed out. I can't believe Daigo can't stay around, this is stupid, and babysitting just makes it even worse. I let out a huff of annoyance.
"Stop huffing, it's annoying." Lui glared at me, and I let out another huff just to annoy him, which seemed to succeed.
Daigo pushed me away from him and walked between us so a fight wouldn't break out between the two of us. "Now's not the time or place for fighting."
We all glanced at the police station as we walked past it and we both bit our tongue, wanting to argue, but knowing he was right. I looked at Lui with curiosity, a question on my mind. "Hey, Lui, why are you in Spain? I know you're a member of the Big 5 and everything, but isn't Japan your home turf?"
"I came to visit someone." He replied bluntly, not giving much more. Well, he's a fountain of information.
"Who?" I pried for answers, and he gave me an irritated look, to which I returned with a bright smile.
"It doesn't matter." He told me, and I pouted. That's so boring. I looked at Daigo, who seemed uncomfortable. I wonder what his problem is. Before I could even ask, Lui randomly stopped, and we both stared at him. "This is where I part. And you don't need to look for Aoi. I can send him back."
Daigo and I shared a look, both wondering if he was up to the task. Daigo cocked an eyebrow, still questioning his capabilities. "Are you sure? Valt's a lot to handle."
"Do you doubt me?" Lui narrowed his eyes at us, and we both shivered, shaking our heads. Lui averted his gaze, satisfied with his answer.
"Um, I'm going that way anyway, so I'll just walk with you," Daigo said, and I gave him a blank stare. He literally lives in the opposite direction. So what is he playing at? Is this about the whole no-mark thing? Free's words rang around my head. 'How do you think Lui got so far? Because he accepted what he had and continued on with his life. You need to do the same thing.' He's a Shirosagi who did the impossible.
"Your friend's face says differently," Lui commented, staring at me, and I looked up at him, surprised. He really is something else, isn't he? Makes me think of Valt. Those two are so similar yet so different.
"No, I was just thinking about something Free told me," I told him, which seemed to spark a curiosity in the dragon blader. He narrowed his eyes at me, as if trying to figure something out, but then averted his gaze, deciding it wasn't worth his time.
"Whatever. See you around, Kawahara. Come on, Kurogami." The two of them walked off and I smiled after them. I hope he finds what he's looking for. Lui can be a lot to handle, but he knows what he's talking about. Good luck, Daigo.
