29. What happened.

Billy woke up the next morning and got ready for work. He kissed me before he left. "I can't wait to hear all about the appointment babe, I love you!" He says after bending down to kiss me. He softly left the room and off to work he went.

My morning starts off normal. I get Scarlett ready and then I get ready. My appointment was early in the morning. After I got ready I drove her to Nancy who agreed to watch her along with her son Matthew. "I promise I won't tell anyone" she says when I drop of Scarlett. Not many people knew about this pregnancy because we were planning on telling people at our family picnic on Memorial Day after the first trimester. This was my first appointment and I was so excited.

I got to the appointment early. They called me back. I sat on the bench and they handed me a cup. "You know the drill sweetie, we need to confirm first" the nurse says winking at me. I smile and nod do as I was asked.

I go back to the room and I wait. It feels like an eternity before the doctor walks in. He was holding a letter and he gave me a half smile as he sat on the chair.

"Well, Miss Henderson" he said looking at me. "I don't really know how to say this but it seems as if your home test gave you a false positive. According to the three test we ran on your sample your not pregnant" He says trying to smile at me.

I was stunned. "Thank you" I whispered. He handed me the paper. In bold letters it read NOT PREGNANT. I wanted to die. Billy and I had planned for a week and a half. Build a plan in our head for everything. I felt like a failure. I felt like this would ruin everything with Billy and I. I cried. I sat in the room and I cried for a while. Finally I controlled my self. I grabbed my things, checked out, and went to my car.

I got in my car and started to drive. Just then I passed the road to the farm Billy worked at. I knew in my bones I had to go tell him now. Lucky for me I knew the owners wife. I knew that I could have her call Billy in. I drive and got to their driveway. I took a deep breath and got out of the car. Billy was on a tractor not far from me. When I got out of the car he saw me. His face went white. He threw the tractor in park, shut it off, and walked to me. He pulled a rag from his back pocket and wiped his hands.

"Hi baby" he said leaning down to kiss me. That's when he noticed my tears. "Baby what's wrong" he says softly grabbing my shoulders.

All I could do was hand him the paper. He unfolded it all while looking at me. He read it and whispered "oh baby" as he pulled me into him.

"Billy, baby I'm so sorry" I whisper hugging him. "I know how excited you were. I'm sorry I let you down"

"Hey now," he begins softly rubbing my back while resting his head on my head. "Baby it says false positive. That's not your fault. It was a bad test. And yeah I'm disappointed but not with you. It doesn't mean I don't want to try again, okay" he says now holding my face in his rough hands. Smiling and nodding to me as we talk. "This is not your fault though baby, it just wasn't the right time"

"Thank you" I whisper still softly crying. "Im sorry I bothered you at work, I just wanted to tell you now so you know" I says holding his body close to mine.

"Baby you never bothering me. I'd much rather be loving on you than sitting on that old tractor" he says giggling while softly rocking me in the hug we were locked in. "You made my day 10 times better with this surprise visit even if it wasn't what we expected." He says kissing my temple in between every few words.

I couldn't help but smile. "Thank you baby" I say before leaning up to kiss him.

He slid his hands down to mine from my shoulders and said "I'll see you at home gorgeous" and smiled as he kissed me before opening my door. I kissed him again and slid in the car.

I went to Nancy's and told her the needs. "Oh y/n I'm so sorry" she says holding Matthew.

I held Scarlett who was napping in my arms. I was bouncing and rocking her. We chatted for a while then we left.

Scarlett and I went home. I worked around the house and she played in the living room. I heard the door and I looked around. It was too early to be Billy. I walked to the living room to see my mom. She walked into the living and half smiled at me.

"Hi" I said leaning down to pick up Scarlett.

"Gigi" Scarlett says holding out her arm. I hadn't see my mom since thanksgiving. Scarlett only knew her grandma from pictures around the house. I leaned in toward her and she took Scarlett.

"Y/n. You have to communicate with me. I've called for the last three days since you and your dad" she begins.

"Terry" I say sharply. Reaching down to pick up a few toys from Scarlett.

"Y/n he's your dad. He is back to the person I fell in love with. You need to get your mind around that!" Mom says now sitting with Scarlett.

"I don't owe that man a damn thing, and after what he put D and I through the fact you can even look at that man surprises me." I say now throwing toys into the basket.

"What I do with my life is business. Just like I don't butt my nose into your business with with his name." She says fanning her hand in my direction like she could care less.

"You're kidding me. Billy. Billy is his name. I have been with Billy for almost four years." I say now stopping dead in my tracks facing her fuming.

"So have three other girls" she says looking up at me.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I ask now stunned. "Fuck you. I love him and he is who I want to be with. You'd know that if you cared about me or anyone else's in this house. But you don't. You come home to your kids when it's convenient for you!" I say to her. I take Scarlett. I grab my keys and head for the door.

"You're only upset because you know it's true baby" she whispers as I reach for the door.

"Maybe if I had parents that showed up I would have had to find love in a fixer upper" I say opening the door.

"What the fuck" he says. As I turn to see who it was I could tell. "Babe What the fuck. What do you mean a fixer upper?" It was Billy. In the midst of my fight with mom I didn't even notice the time. Billy stood in the door frame mad.

"Billy wait" I say as he turns to walk back to his car. He keeps walking.

"Dada" Scarlett says smiling. This freezes him in his tracks. Forcing him to turn back to me. He was flaming his face was red.
