"What the kriff is this?" Fives asked Shaak, holding up a small object to the lights in the roof of the training room they were situated in. Shaak looked it over.
"I'm not sure what it is, but I know what it does. Helps the power of the kyber crystal become a blade," Shaak answered. Instead of contructing his lightsaber, Fives had asked the same question a multitude of times for nearly every single piece of lightsaber hilt strewn out in front of him and Shaak. She was trying her best to be patient, reminding herself how old he was chronologically.
"What-"
"Are you going to construct your lightsaber?" Fives could see the impatientness seeping into her expression.
He sheepishly put the piece down. "Sorry."
Shaak took a breath out. "The diagram is here." She slid a holoprojector over to him. "You will need to follow it while using the Force to construct your lightsaber."
"Alright. This won't be difficult at all." The sarcasm rolled off like waves, matching Fives' perplexed expression.
Shaak chuckled. "If you put your mind to it, you'll find the Force guides you more than the diagram does."
Fives nodded and picked up the pieces with the Force.
"Now focus. Close your eyes if you need to. It helps remove the distractions," Shaak quietly instructed.
Fives did as she said, and before she knew it the pieces where moving about each other while they tried to find the piece they belonged to. Soon enough, the pieces were lined up and slid together, forming a straight hilt similar to Shaak's. Fives' kyber crystal floated into the chamber made for it, and the hilt shut. Fives grabbed it out of the air.
"Is it okay?" He asked as he handed his newly made lightsaber to his mentor. Shaak opened it and observed the wiring and placements.
"It's perfect," she replied with a smile as she handed it back to him. "You may ignite it."
Fives stood up and held the hilt in front of him and pressed the ignition. A bright blue blade shot up. He tenderly gave it a swing, its humming giving a sense of rightness. Fives smiled and extinguished it. "It's quiet pretty, isn't it?"
"Yes it is. Matches mine perfectly as well."
"I'm gonna injure myself with this, aren't I?"
"You may, but that is all part of learning."
