Jonah's pov
At Jakes house we were talking and i kept thinking about ethan and it was annoying jake
" Are you okay? " Jake asked me
" Y-yeah, sorry " i said as i shook my head to get ethan out of my mind
" Go hang out with him " jake said as i gave him a confused look
" What? " I said confused
" Ethan, go hang out with him...its obvious you want to " jake said as i sighed
" No, i wanna hang out with you..." I said because jake was my best friend
" But your thinking about ethan " jake said
" No im not " i said as jake smirked as he leaned in and kissed my lips and i kissed back
Jake pulled away and i looked at him as he leaned back in and we started making out but all i could think about ethan and i sat up as jake got confused
" Your right, I can't stop thinking about ethan " i said bummed out as jake nodded lightly
" Then why can't you hang out with him? " Jake asked me
" Because he's embarrassed that he likes me " i said as jake smiled
" Maybe hes afraid of what his friends and family will think...not everyone is accepting of people who like the same sex " jake said as i got confused
" He broke up with me because he said he's not into me and he's happier without me " i said as jake scoffed with a smile
" And you believed him? " Jake said smirking
" Yeah " i said
" Look, he's obviously a closeted gay or bi...he needs time or someone to encourage him to come out...you can only hide a secret for so long before it starts eating at you and sometimes when you can't handle a secret...its not a good thing " jake said as i got confused
" What are you saying? " I asked jake as he sighed and showed me his wrist full of cuts
" You did that? " I asked jake as he nodded
" I kept lying to myself about who i was and i started doing that " jake said as i began thinking about ethan
" Pretending to be something your not is like wearing a mask everyday and refusing to take it off because your scared of what people will think " jake said as i sighed and bite my lip as ethan texted me and i deleted the message
Ethan's pov
At night i sent jonah a text that i wanted to talk to him but he didnt answer and i got upset and i called sarah but she wasnt answering, i got up dressed and put on my jacket as i walked to the school at night and sighed as i climbed up the ladder on the side of the school and go to the top and slowly walked to the side of the school as i kept seeing me and jonah kissing in my head and step onto the edge of the top of the school building and i started shaking as i looked down and my breath was shaky as benny texted me but i didnt answer
Benny's pov
I tried to text ethan but he didnt answer so i called him and he switched me off and i tracked his cellphone to see that hes on the top of the school building and i got confused until i realized what he was doing and i ran and texted jonah and called sarah who both got to the school before me
Jonah's pov
I was sitting in jakes room when i got a text from benny about ethan and me and i grabbed my stuff and ran to the school and me and sarah both got there as she looked at me
" I got this " i said to sarah as i climbed up the ladder and slowly got to the top as i seen ethan standing on the edge as i slowly walked up to him as he turned to see me and he had tears in his eyes
" What are you doing? " Ethan said confused
" On top of a school building because my best friend is being stupid " i said sarcastically as i was shaking
" Ethan, you have to stop lying to yourself...if you like me then you have to say it " i said as i slowly walked up to him as he shook his head
" I don't like you...." Ethan said shaking his head
" Then why are we up here? " I asked ethan
" Because...i...i dont know " ethan said as i rolled my eyes as jake walked up behind me
" What are you doing here? " I asked jake who shrugged
" I dont know...looking at the stars " jake said sarcastically
" Ha ha " i said sarcastically
" Ethan, i know how your feeling...i used to feel the exact same way..." Jake said as ethan looked at him
" People can be mean but its not what they think of you its what you think of yourself...." Jake said as ethan looked at me
" Ethan, you dont have to wear a mask and pretend to be something your not " jake said
" Im not prete- " ethan said but jake cut him off
" Yes you are, i used to chase after girls all the time...thats what your doing...you dated mikayla and chased after jo and bailey...they didnt work out " jake said as ethan got confused
" I told him about them " i said as ethan rolled his eyes
Ethan walked over to me and nodded lightly as we climbed down the ladder and sarah smiled at ethan before she slapped his head and he groaned in pain and we walked home but i talked to jake and me and him stayed best friends but i still wanted to talk to ethan about how he felt, i walked over to ethan and he smiled at me
" Sorry, i really do like you " ethan said as i smiled and nodded
" I like you to....do you want to get back together? " I asked ethan who nodded lightly and we leaned in and kissed
