Darryl/Bad POV
As soon as I walk into the Cafe, I'm surprised by a hug from someone.
I look up to see George smiling at me.
"George! I missed you!" I giggle, giving him a lopsided smile.
"I missed you too! I'm sorry I haven't been around lately, my parents were in town."
"That's ok, you muffinhead. At least you're here now."
We walk to the front, giggling. Dream sees me and smiles. "Hey, Darryl. What'll it be today?"
"I get the same thing every single day, Dream. You should know my order by now."
"Well I don't, so please, enlighten me." He rests his chin in his hands and flutters his eyelashes.
George laughs. "Stop flirting with my man, Darryl."
I sigh. "One blueberry muffin, and one medium hot chocolate please."
"Sounds great, Zak will bring your food out when it's ready."
I try to hide my excitement. "Zak? You mean the only person that hasn't given me my order before?"
"The one and only."
"O K A Y...well I'm gonna go sit down now, so I'll talk to you guys later."
Ant smiles, "Later."
I don't know why I'm so excited to be served by Zak. After all, he just works here. We've never even talked before yesterday.
George follows me to the booth, sitting down on the bench opposite to me. Ever since Dream introduced us, we've been pretty good friends. Sadly, we don't hang out away from the Cafe all that much.
Seeing as George hasn't been at the Cafe for a few weeks, we have a lot to catch up on.
George tells me about his parents visiting, and I mostly just listen, without much to add.
Soon, Dream calls George over to the front, and I'm left alone at my table.
I always come to the Cafe later in the day, mostly because it's less busy. I never did well in large crowds, and less customers means I can actually talk to the workers.
After a moment, I see Zak walking towards me. I wave and say hi, but he completely ignores me.
Setting my muffin and cocoa on the table, he leaves before I can even thank him.
Maybe Dream was wrong, maybe Zak is mad at me.
Then again, his face had seemed flushed and red when he came over. Maybe he's just sick and didn't want to contaminate me?
Why doesn't he say hi to me? I sigh in frustration, biting down into the delicious muffin and zoning out.
Once I finish my muffin, I decide I'll just drink my hot chocolate at home, so I start to gather my trash.
There's no one else in the Cafe at the moment, so I decide I can probably talk to the workers for a while.
Dream and George are in the back room, and I can just barely see the figure of someone sitting with them.
It looks like Zak, his fluffy black hair hiding his eyes.
What happened to him?
It looks like he's been crying. Dream is blocking my full view, but Zak's head is down and George is hugging him tightly.
Velvet and Ant are still in the front, just in case any customers come in. They see me approaching and wave.
Velvet has one arm wrapped around his lover, his face buried in Ant's sweater.
"Hi Guys! I'm going to get going now, but, um, is Zak doing ok?"
Ant smirks. "Just relationship issues."
"Wait, he's in a relationship?"
"Not yet. He isn't." Velvet directs a wink at me.
"What are you saying?" I can feel a blush rising in my cheeks..
"Nothing. Nothing at all. Why are you blushing?"
Ant and Velvet share a smile.
"I AM NOT BLUSHING!" I can feel my cheeks growing ever hotter.
"Suuure." Ant giggles.
"Whatever. I have to go. Tell the others I say hi." I turn, annoyed and ready to get out of there.
The air outside is cold, it's been getting colder lately, and I can see my breath fogging in front of me. The first flakes of snow are falling to the ground all around me.
I shiver, pulling my coat tighter around me.
I wonder what was wrong with Zak. What if it was something I did?
He hadn't seemed too enthusiastic about talking to me today, and after he had been crying.
I sigh in frustration. Why do I even care so much? I don't even know him.
It still hurts though. To have someone who looks so sweet, and energetic, and cute dislike me for a reason I don't even know.
Wait, did I just call him cute? What is wrong with me lately?
I wrap my fingers tighter around my hot chocolate, wanting to feel the warmth.
Something scrapes against my fingers, I look down to see a small, folded piece of paper tucked into the sleeve of the cup.
I sit on a nearby bench and pull the paper out of the sleeve, slowly unfolding it.
