Darryl/Bad POV

I smile to myself as I look back to my conversation with Zak from last night. I can't believe he actually agreed to hang out!

We would be ice skating at the town square, which is something I have loved doing since I was a child. Sure, I still wasn't very good at it, but it was still enjoyable.

Zak definitely seems like the athletic type, so I assume he'll like skating with me.

Maybe now, Zak won't run away and hide during my visit to the Cafe. I always found it strange, but somewhat adorable that he would get embarrassed.

It's a cold day, snow is falling, but not enough to be called a storm. My breath foggy in the air in front of me as I walk through the city.

My phone screen is lit up, showing me my conversation with Zak, which I had been reading over and over again over the course of my walk.

It's already getting to be late in the day, so I decided to go to the cafe. Usually, I come a bit later, but I want to see Zak as soon as I can, and I'm not busy today.

I can see the building fast approaching, a cute little shop with swirly lettering above the door that read: Sunshine Cafe. The inside is brightly lit, so I can see the inside pretty clearly even from across the street.

It's busier than usual, but then again, I usually come later because I want to avoid the crowd.

I cross the street and walk up to the door, almost all the booths are taken, and there's a bit of a line, so I just stand in the back, waiting to have my order taken.

I know that if my friends see me, they'll probably give me my food right away, but I don't want to cut in line, so I just pull my hood over my head, and try to avoid their attention.

After a couple of minutes, I'm closer to the front with only 2 people in front of me. Dream is taking orders from people, Velvet is bringing food to the booths, and I can just make out the figure of Zak in the back room preparing the warm drinks and pastries for customers.

As I approach the front of the line, Dream smiles at me.

"Darryl! How come you didn't say you'd be coming early? I would've let you skip the line!"

"That's exactly why I didn't tell you, these muffinheads were here first, they should get their orders first too."

Dream winks at me. "Whatever you say. Lucky for you, your usual booth is open, so we'll bring your stuff out when it's ready. You'll want your usual, correct?"

"That's right. Thank you!" I walk over to the corner of the shop, and sure enough, my favorite booth is open.

I always sit in the same place, a cozy booth at the back of the shop. It's tucked away from the rest of the place, so it's like I have my own little cave, plus, it's us against the window, so I can watch the snow fall, and the people walking by. Most seats by a window would be cold, but there's a heater under the seat so I'm always warm and comfortable.

I tuck myself into the corner, and look around the shop. Everyone is working hard, moving fast. I don't see Ant or George today, so they might be in the back, but also could've just not come today.

I sit up straighter as I hear my name. "Velvet, come get Darryl's food. Hurry!"

Velvet begins to walk over, but then Zak bursts out of the back. "I'll do it! Let me bring him his food!"

Everyone looks at Zak, and then starts speaking in more hushed tones. I can't hear what they're saying, but I can tell Dream and Velvet are teasing Zak, because his face is flushed, and he's looking at the floor.

The boys finally send him off, Velvet shouting, "Good luck, Skeppy."

Huh. I wonder why they called him Skeppy? I'll ask him later.

Zak approaches my booth with a lopsided grin. "Here's your order, sir. I'd stay to chat, but as you can see, we're quite busy today."

He sets the food down on my table, and I laugh. "Thank you, Zak. You're too kind."

He winks at me, and rushes away.

My muffin is just as good as usual, and since I came here earlier than usual, I decide I have enough time to stay while I drink my cocoa. Plus, I want to say hi to Velvet once the crowd dies down for the day.

To my surprise, when I go to pick up my drink, there's another note tucked into the sleeve of the cup.

I pull out the slip of paper, and carefully unfold it.

Hey cutie ;)

Thought I'd give you a drink almost as hot as you. Hope you like it <3

For some reason, the note brings a blush to my cheeks, but I can't stop the smile that tugs at the corners of my lips. He's so adorable.

I continue to drink my cocoa, but with a little more of a smile. Why does Zak make me feel this way?

He's such a muffinhead...
