Epilogue

5 Years later...

Third Person POV:

To any outside person that saw them walking down the streets, or sitting in a restaurant would know they were soulmates. Always had been. Always will be.

Maybe you don't believe in things like soulmates and love at first sight. That's ok. Just because you don't believe in something, doesn't mean it isn't real.

It could just be because you haven't met that special person, the one who lights up your whole world with just a smile. The person who keeps you up at night because you can't stop thinking about them.

Zak and Darryl met that person years ago. Years ago, they found each other and everything made sense.

The way they would laugh together, fingers intertwined as if they hadn't a care in the world. Small, quick kisses exchanged for the simplest reasons. You knew, they were made for eachother.

Some people would look away from the pair in disgust, but it didn't matter to them. They were already complete.

It was a day that seemed like any other. But Zak had something special planned. After all, it was a special day.

Five years exactly after the day they got together. Five years after they had realized what was missing in their life.

The lovers were sleeping, wrapped in eachothers arms protectively. It was a cold day, snow falling in small flurries outside their window.

Zak sat up slowly, looking down at his lover with a smile. Planting a small kiss on Darryl's lips, he pushed himself out of bed.

It started with a nice breakfast. Darryl woke up to find his boyfriend gone, and grew worried for a moment. However, after fuller regaining his senses, it was obvious that Zak was downstairs.

The smell of delicious foods wafted through the house. A plate of waffles was sitting on the table, along with blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries.

Zak was standing at the stove, spatula in hand as he watched the bacon sizzle on the pan.

Darryl came up quietly, and gave him a hug from behind.

"Good morning, my sunshine." Zak said, turning around to plant a kiss on Darryl's forehead. They both giggled, relishing in each other's presence.

Once the food was done, the pair sat down to eat. The meal was mostly silent, but that was fine. They had each other and that was enough.

After breakfast, Zak had a surprise prepared. "Go get your shoes on, strawberry. I have something special planned for us today~" Zak said with a grin.

Darryl looked confused, but listened.

A few minutes later, the couple was walking down the street, hand in hand. They were bundled in thick, fluffy coats to protect themselves from the snow falling around them.

Zak led the pair through the streets before arriving at the ice skating rink. The very same one where they had gone on their first date, where they had gotten together, where Zak had confessed.
