Lili groaned as she was drawn back into wakefulness. How long had it been?? Judging by the brightening light from the window only a few hours. Maybe. Nobody else was awake, so it was still early. She sighed. Might as well get a start on breakfast. She threw the blanket off and scuffed into the kitchen, searching for the ingredients she wanted. Pulled out some milk, flour, sugar, and other ingredients for pancakes, whipping up a goodly amount of batter, putting in a dash of cinnamon for a bit of extra flavor. She heated up the griddle, pouring a perfect circle of batter onto the pan, staring, waiting for it to cook, watching as bubbles slowly formed at the rims of the pancake. When the time was right, she wiggled the pan, grinning when the cake slipped around a little. She stuck her tongue between her teeth and gave the pan a good flick, flipping the pancake, lips pulling back in a grin as she caught it, a satisfying sizzle hissing as the other side of the cake started to cook. She got out a plate and put it on the stovetop to keep warm and as a place to put the cooked pancakes. Once the cake had gotten to a nice shade of golden-brown, she slipped it onto the plate, putting a small slice of butter on the pan to grease it before she poured on some more batter.
David woke up as she cooked the third.
"I didn't know you could cook."
She smirked. "The one we had onboard, Jeff, couldn't to save 'is life; I just sort of have a taste for it. Guess I got it from my dad; he's always had more refined tastes. I helped Jeff out." She slid another pancake onto the plate.
"Well thank you."
She shrugged. "Not necessary; not like I've anything better to do; helping out around here'll give me something to do so I don't go raving mad from boredom." She flashed him a grin before returning her gaze to her task. "So, get some good sleep, highness?"
"I did, thank you. You?"
"As well as can be expected, I suppose."
"I'm sorry."
She looked at him, brow furrowed.
"That you didn't sleep well."
"Oh. ..Well, thanks, I suppose."
"There's some whiskey in that cabinet, just so you know," he said, nodding to the right. Her eyes flicked to it. She could've sworn she'd searched it.
"..Where exactly, in that cabinet?"
He smirked a little. "Behind the spaghetti noodles."
Her brow furrowed. What..what was spaghetti???
"The long yellow things in the glass."
Oh. That.
"Y'know you really shouldn't 've told me that."
"And why's that?" David asked, a little amused.
"It's probably going to disappear one night and you'll only find out when you need it."
He laughed softly. "It's okay. I'm sure you need it more than I do."
He jostled her shoulder a little before getting out a few plates and utensils, setting the table.
"Good morning," Snow hummed.
"Goood morning, dear."
They kissed and Lili's lip curled just a little.
David laughed. "What's the matter, pirate?"
"Not near as much fun when I don't get to do it," she muttered.
David laughed again. "You'll be outta here soon enough." He ruffled her hair, and she started growling and muttering under her breath before she brought over the last of the pancakes.
