SHUTTING DOWN

Y/n was in her room laying down. She had finally felt 'worthy' of staying in her room again. Daniel walked up to her door and knocked on it, "Come in" said Y/n. Daniel opened the door and peeked his head inside "Hey, honey. We're going over to the dojo." Daniel informed, though he didn't sound too happy like other times. She knew what this was going to be about.

"Alright," Y/n responded. Daniel left the room. Y/n grabbed some normal clothes and changed. She put on her shoes before she stepped out of her room. Daniel and Sam had already left so the only one who was left was her. She said goodbye to Amanda and Chozen, who had come a few days ago from Okinawa. She got in her car and drove to the dojo.

As she arrived she saw Demetri and Eli. Eli continued forward while Demetri stayed back waiting for the h/c girl. "Hey," Demetri said with a smile as Y/n got out of her car. "Hey" y/n tried to sound convincing. Demetri pecked her cheek and interlaced their hands together as they walked into the dojo.

"You know—I think I'm just gonna stay over here." Y/n pulled on Demetri's hand. Demetri looked at her "you're not coming back?" He asked "I-I'm not sure yet...I'm not even sure I wanna do karate again" Y/n replied. Demetri nodded understandingly "okay, okay. See you after then" Demetri kissed her hand before walking off. Y/n sighed before walking over to the stairs that lead to the door of the house. She was too scared to see the faces on the student's faces.

Sitting on the steps she listened as her father began to speak to the rest of the students, "everyone, gather around. It's great to see you all back here again. You know, we had one goal going into the All Valley. Beat Cobra Kai. We walked away with a first-place trophy thanks to Eli."

Daniel clapped before others started to clap as well "As far as the rest of the tournament...well, it just didn't go our way. We said we'd close our dojo if we lost. And..."
Daniel sighed deeply "that's exactly what we're gonna do.  As of today, I am shutting down Miyagi-Do Karate." Daniel informed.

"What?" Sam began. "Wait. Mr.LaRusso—"Eli protested "I know that's not what you were hoping to hear, but with everything going on at Cobra Kai, continuing to operate Miyagi-Do only leaves a target on your backs. Guys, I have to keep you safe, okay? Just remember what you've learned. This dojo may be closing, but Miyagi-Do lives inside each and every one of you still." Daniel finished.

"Great. Guess I'm getting a summer job." Said Demetri. He and Eli walked out not glancing at Y/n. The others doing the same. Y/n watched them as they walked away. She ran her hand through her hair.

"Dad, this can't be your plan." Sam said "I know you're disappointed, Sam" Daniel replied. "I just wanna make things right. This wouldn't be happening if I hadn't lost to Y/n at the tournament. This is all my fault" Sam claimed. "No, Sam. It's mine. With Johnny gone, it's on me to fix this. I reached out to Chozen because this isn't about a tournament anymore. This is real life" Daniel responded.

"But, Dad. I can fight—"

"This isn't your Fight, Sam. I know firsthand that Silver isn't afraid of putting kids in harm's way. I have to keep all of you out of it. So, please, just...just trust me on this." Daniel pleaded.

Y/n heard Sam walk away. She looked straight at Y/n "I hope you're happy" Sam grumbled as she walked away. Y/n opened her mouth but she couldn't speak. Daniel walked up behind her and rested his hand on her shoulder "I'm sorry dad...I really am" Y/n's voice shook as she looked down at her shoes in shame. "It's not your fault" Daniel replied.

'Oh, but it is...'

Y/n walked past the home dojo and heard Sam practicing. Quietly, she made her way in but not enough for Sam to see her. She repeated all the moves she did at the All Valley. Kicking and blocking, shouting as she did so. "Hiyah!" She breathed heavily. The brunette shook her head and walked back to her computer. She rewatched the video as Y/n struck Sam in the stomach. "Point. Winner" Sam sighed as she paused the video.

The guilt ran through Y/n. She quickly left the dojo and walked back inside the house. She went up to her room where Demetri awaited. He laid on her bed reading a new comic he had purchased with Eli. Y/n opened the door and Demetri sat up "did you get my drink?" He asked putting down his comic. Y/n groaned to herself "shit. I forgot I was getting you something" Y/n replied.

"I'll—" she began before her phone dinged. She pulled out the phone from her pocket.

Message from Kenny: Yo Y/n! When you come back bring your trophy! There's an empty spot waiting for it!!😆

Y/n rubbed her temples "what? What's wrong?" Demetri asked. "Nothing, nothing. Wrong number" Y/n replied putting her phone in her pocket. "I'll be back with your drink...again," Y/n said walking out of her room once more and down to the kitchen.

In the kitchen was an upset Sam grabbing a water bottle. "Sam, can we—" Y/n began but was very quickly cut off by Sam. "Don't." Sam shut the fridge and walked off. Y/n watched her leave. She couldn't say anything to Sam without her walking off or shutting her up. But could she blame her? No.

She grabbed herself a drink before getting Demetri his drink. She headed back up. Demetri grabbed his drink and opened it immediately, almost chugging it. "This comic is kinda weird I mean it's nothing like the cover. There's wizards and dwarfs but all I've gotten was a wannabe Tinkerbell" Demetri complained.

"What?" Y/n chuckled slightly at his comment she sat down beside him leaning her head on her backboard. "So what are you gonna do now that there's no Miyagi-Do? I'm getting a summer job that's for sure" said Demetri. "What, you don't wanna be around me anymore?"Y/n teased. "What no! Of course. I just wanna get more money to buy you more stuff, better than that crystal heart necklace" Demetri claimed.

"Hey! I like the necklace" Y/n said pulling out the necklace from her shirt. "You do?" Demetri said almost surprised. "Yeah," Y/n said in a duh tone "I wear it all the time" Y/n gently flicked his head. "Ouchie" Demetri rubbed his head. "You're a big baby" Y/n teased. "No—I'm just...delicate" he replied.

Y/n laughed and leaned in to kiss him. He kissed back immediately. She rested her hands on his chest as he cupped her face. Demetri's hands made their way down Y/n's waist before stopping at her hips.

Then the image of Demetri at the tournament flashed in Y/n's mind. His sad eyes looked at her. Daniel talked to Sam. Sam left quickly. Daniel tried to stop her. Chris and Eli's faces were full of disappointment.

Y/n quickly pulled away pushing Demetri away softly. Demetri backed away quickly. "I-I'm sorry I should've asked—" he started "no, no it's not that. I'm sorry—I just" Y/n looked away.

"Sorry, I really should've asked" Demetri sighed. Demetri pecked the top of her head "Sorry, n/n"

y/n didn't reply.
