It was summer. Hot summer nights asked for a cool refreshment. Y/n wasn't having the summer heat. So what did she do? Asked Demetri if he wanted to go swimming. Demetri agreed and the two made a small plan to sneak out and head to a lake near.

Y/n put on her swimsuit before putting on some denim shorts and a sweatshirt, specifically, Demetri's sweatshirt. Y/n slipped her shoes on and packed some stuff into a bag.

She looked out her window and spotted Demetri's car a little in front of the driveway. Y/n smiled to herself before she exited her room. She tiptoed her way out of the house and out to Demetri's car.

Once the raven-haired boy spotted her he unlocked his car. Put her stuff inside before getting in herself. "Hey" Y/n smiled widely "hey" Demetri chuckled. Then they were off to the lake.

Once they got there, y/n got out eagerly. Demetri smiled softly at his girlfriend. Y/n placed her stuff down on the grainy ground. Demetri did the same. Y/n slipped off her shoes and socks. Y/n pulled down her shorts and took off her sweatshirt.

Demetri watched in awe. For as long as they'd been together, he had yet to see her like this. Y/n caught him staring and laughed "quit staring and hurry up," Y/n said small tints of pink on her ears. Demetri blushed deeply.

Demetri awkwardly took his shirt off and his sweatpants leaving him in his swimming trunks. He slid his shoes off and looked back up at Y/n.

"Come on!" Y/n urged as she walked closer to the water. The small waves hit her toes. "Ooh! It's cold!" Y/n giggled. Y/n made her way into the water letting it engulf her.

Demetri watched from where he stood. He held his arms self-consciously. He didn't have toned abs like Robby or Eli. He didn't have good biceps like Miguel or Andy. His arms were long, with barely noticeable muscle, and not much going on his stomach.

Y/n plugged her nose and went under the water. Once she went back up she laughed to herself "that felt good!" She exclaimed. She looked over at Demetri. "Come on, Demetri! Don't just stand there. Get in" Y/n waved him over.

Demetri walked to the water. The water came in contact with his feet "Ack! That's cold, N/n" Demetri whined. "Once you get in it goes away" y/n replied as she swam around. Demetri shivered as he made his way into the water and towards the h/c-haired girl. Demetri held his biceps trying to somehow keep himself warm.

"Put your head under the water. It helps it go away" Y/n said. Demetri nodded and plugged his nose with his fingers and began to go down. Before he could put himself under he got up "Too cold!" Demetri complained. Y/n laughed. Demetri continued to hold his arms. He looked around trying not to bring any attention to his 'undertoned' body. "Demetri," Y/n said as she swam towards him.

"That's my name" Demetri replied growing more conscious about his body as Y/n swam to him. "What's wrong?" Y/n frowned at her boyfriend. "Nothing" Demetri answered almost immediately.

Why was Demetri so nervous? There was none else around. Just Y/n. Y/n. She made him nervous. Not because Demetri thought she'd shame him. But because Demetri thought he wasn't well built for her. Even with training he still required more to really tone his body. He was sure Y/n would be disappointed.

Y/n noticed his arms tightly holding his arms. "I know you're not just cold." Demetri sighed. "It's just...I don't exactly have the body for you know..." Demetri trailed off.

"What?" Y/n furrowed her eyebrows. "These types of situations." Demetri reverted his eyes away from his girlfriend. "Hey..." Y/n caressed his face "you're fine just the way you are." She reassured "are you sure...? I mean, don't you want someone with a better body" Demetri wiggled his 'lanky' arms around.

"What? No. I'd rather be with you than with some asshole who has like 20 abs—which sounds weird and probably unachievable—my point is...I want you. And only you" Y/n held Demetri's arms and slid them down until she interlaced their fingers together.

"Really?" The boy asked. Y/n nodded "really, really" she smiled. Demetri felt a wave of relief and gave Y/n a small smile.

Demetri's eyes decided to take in her presence and basically admire her. The moon reflected on her face beautifully. It made her skin glow and bloom. Her eyes sparkled under the stars. Her smile shined brighter than the moon. God, she's beautiful...

Y/n noticed his starting and pecked Demetri's lips. Demetri blinked realizing he had been staring. Y/n kissed him. Demetri didn't hesitate to place his hands on her waist as he kissed her back. Y/n grinned into the kiss as she placed her hands on his shoulder and pushed him down into the water.

Y/n laughed as she swam away. Demetri gasped as he want back up "Holy shit. That was cold" Y/n laughed harder. "That's what you get for starting too long!" Y/n said. "Oh, what? You don't like me admiring how beautiful you are?" Demetri acted hurt. "Oh, I definitely do," Y/n said.

"Do you still feel cold, though?" Y/n asked as she kept afloat. "No..." Demetri mumbled. "Told you so" y/n said proudly. Demetri rolled his eyes at his girlfriend. Y/n laughed again and splashed him with the water. Demetri spat out water that had made its way into his mouth.

"Oh, so that's how it's going to be," Demetri said. He splashed her back. Y/n laughed and continued to splash him again before going under the water. It was dark and the moon was their only source of light. Demetri squinted trying to make out Y/n's figure.

Suddenly he was pulled under the water. Y/n laughed internally as she pulled Demetri's legs down. She quickly swam away from Demetri. Demetri swam back up and saw Y/n's splashing in front of him. He smirked to himself and swam up to Y/n. He picked her up by the waist.

"Holy shit!" Y/n yelped in surprise. "I guess you can say I swept you off your feet" Y/n laughed. Demetri chuckled in response. "I guess you can say —" Demetri threw Y/n back into the water. Y/n returned to the surface. Y/n looked at him in surprise "—you fell for me" Demetri finished his sentence. Y/n laughed and swam back to him.

Y/n looked up at him. Demetri looked into her eyes before flickering down to her lips. "Gonna kiss me or what?" Y/n muttered softly. Demetri laughed lightly before putting his hand on the side of Y/n's face. He leaned down and they connected their lips. Y/n ran her hands through Demetri's hair. His other hand slid down her waist. Y/n wrapped her legs around his waist. Demetri held her carefully.

Y/n smiled into the kiss before pulling him down into the water. She swam up to the surface and laughed loudly. Demetri swam up and gave a deadpan look. "Fool me once," Demetri said "Shame on you" He pointed at Y/n. "Fool you twice, shame on me" Demetri sighed. "You're too easy to fool" Y/n laughed as she floated on the water. "I guess that makes me your fool," Demetri said swimming up to her and floating beside her.

They interlocked hands and looked up at the sky.

Minutes passed and it was getting a little cooler. "Let's get out" Said Y/n. Demetri nodded "race you" He challenged. The two ran back to land. Y/n grabbed her towel and wrapped it around herself "I definitely got here before you" Y/n said. "What? No. I definitely did" Demetri said wrapping his towel around himself.

"Nah, I did" Y/n replied. "Whatever helps you sleep at night" Demetri shrugged. Y/n playfully hit his shoulder "Rude" Y/n said. "Should we head back?" Y/n asked.

Demetri thought for a second "(favorite food place) is still open...wanna go?" He asked. Y/n's eyes lip up "Uh, yes," y/n said in a duh tone. "Come on!" Y/n hurried as she grabbed her stuff and headed to Demetri's car. "I'm going!" Demetri quickly grabbed his stuff and headed to his car.

They changed back into their clothes and had some (favorite food place). It was a night for them to remember.
