Dearest Bondita,
Mistakes are a part of me and I'll probably make more of them. I don't know, how to soothe your anxiety properly because I have been drowning in misery over my deeds.
Calling them mistakes will not be sufficient. I had sinned. And trust me, I'll repent for it for the rest of my days.
I know you need to return to Dalhousie tomorrow. But before you return, let's reconcile.
I need to part with you with the assurance that you'll give us a chance to start anew. I need to see the same hope in your eyes for our relationship as I have in my eyes.
I am asking a lot. I know. But, can you grant this to your patibabu?
I am extremely elated that you had worn my gifts and they were the proof of our better relationship. I could see the joy in your eyes as well.
These days of Puja (Veneration) and everything combined has barely given us the chance to talk properly.
But the way I saw you smile at me has given me immense hope Bondita.
It is your last night here. You'll not be able to return soon as your exams are approaching. I know that I am being extremely selfish by asking for a chance in this letter. But our reconciliation had started in letters that were written by you. They were my salvation. I don't know, what am I writing Bondita.
Put me out of my misery by coming to me. Give me a chance, please.
I am waiting for you.
Yours patibabu
She was crying by the time she finished reading the letter.
It was not a long letter. But his haphazard emotional state present in the letter was the testimony of his feelings.
She knew that gifts and sweet words won't be enough to satiate their relationship. Their relationship will need more than that. They will need assurance that will come after actions, which will be filled with promises of a better tomorrow.
She had not forgotten. But her scars had healed in a sense.
She knew her own mistakes in that fiasco as well. She had listened to the words of others and had allowed them to influence her life. Her words were the repetition of others.
Both were at fault and both needed to repent.
Bondita had made up her mind. She knew that he was trying to become a better husband for her and she will give him the chance to be her life partner and badlaav partner. Her mind had made it's decision.
She felt at peace after the decision and immediately left for Anirudh's study.
She was running fast to his study. As if the devil was chasing her and only he could offer her redemption.
She had never understood, how huge the haveli was. But today she felt as if the size had multiplied for she felt like she was running for an eternity.
She was gasping for breath as she reached the gate of his study but to her utter dismay, she found the study locked.
Another habit of Anirudh because he couldn't trust anyone in his study without his presence.
Bondita immediately ran for his room. In the other place, he could be found.
She needed to see him. She needed to talk with him.
Anirudh was reading a book in his bed. He hadn't expected Bondita to respond to his letter at all.
