Part 5: Memorise is hell

(Lloyd)

Nevaeh? Who the hell is Nevaeh?

When the light had faded and Harumi's body went limp vania acted quickly while I stood there like an idiot. Vaina used cole's powers to rip a hole in the roof to get us out "why do people keep dying?" Kai ground "she's not dead".

"Who?" Nya had been sitting next to me and must have heard me mumbling about what Harumi said "umm harumi she said a name before she pasted out...nevaeh" "nevaeh?" Vania had come back from making sure Harumi was comfortable "are you sure?" "yeah," I could have asked why but it seemed that for everyone no one really cared which made the deepest part of my heart sad, not pity sadness, but as if I had taken the place vania usually held. Vania...she was surprisingly peaceful about the whole ordeal like it was normal or she knew it was going to happen. "Why did she faint?" nya looked closely at vania "power transfure?...I mean your powers are conected in ways no one else are, well execpt for coles and mine" "how so?" "well your powers come from the same person but split into two while mine and coles are more..." her eyes were looking for the right word "maried?" pixal helped, Vania's eyes gave a glare then "yeah, maried". "Lloyd you okay?" "yeah, I just can't seem to get that name out of my head?" I was distant in my thoughts and knew no one wanted to interrupt me for they all dealt with the guilt of not being worried for Harumi's health. "Hey, look we are coming up on a town" that's what she said before a colossal squid tentacle of branches started to pull us down with power that "stop, vaina you are going to kill us" "I'm not do it...good mother of" mother? Mother of powers that what my mom called my grand...Harumi. Not even thinking to tell the rest of them I made my way to Harumi's bedroom. Upon entering I found her body restless in a torment of whatever she was dreaming "pixal, can you try?" vania screamed and she was through of her balance "she will not let me through" even if pixals eyes glowed Harumi's mind would not let someone through that wasn't "Lloyd no, you don't know what you with find" vania screamed as I made my way to pixal turning to say "I will find answers."

Why couldn't I have just died now, I am ready.

When I imagined going into Harumi's head I thought it would look dark and full of blood but, this looked peaceful like a summer day that almost fell where the weather wasn't too hot but also not too cold. A wind that goes though wheat fields raced past me with the sound of a child laughing to be most specific it was a child laughing she was chasing a butterfly as two people who I guessed were her parents watched it was a happy scene that I never got as a child "hello, Lloyd" the woman looked straight at me like she wasn't even a part of the scene "hello?" her smile was familiar to me "My name is Amara, I am Nevaeh's mother" the child came before her and gave her a flower but the left with the phantom of her mother and father "Nevaeh?...is that Harumi?" "it is her given name but she has not gone by that name in a long time" Amara moved along the wheat leaving me to fallow "can you take me to Harumi?" "yes" "can you take me now?" "yes...but I must warn you for what you will see is not for you to see" grabbing my hand she pulled me through. "The tunnal of memorise, come" she lead me into a darker-looking memory.

Dark and gloomy was the only word to describe the orphanage we walked through. The children did not laugh and play but instead looked gloomy and whipped a child caught my eye she was sitting on her bed looking at a book reading it a bruise was evident on her cheek and arms. Looking up every so often she saw what she had been looking for a larger boy who wandered through the bunk beds toward her "girls aren't allowed to read" he sneered and backhanded her across the face. Her face moved with the powerful blow but she did not flinch as I did. "Whould you still want to prosed?" Amara asked, then moved us across the memory.
