"What? He actually said that?" Paige called that night, picking up what she missed out on ground zero. "He wasn't upset seeing Seb?"
"No! He said I should see more boys. What was he thinking??"
"It could only mean one thing." Paige spoke in her serious tone. "Teen Vogue once said the only time when a boy allows a girl to see other boys, is so he can see other girls!"
"Other girls? But who??" Kendall felt a chill up her spine, but she quickly shrugged off the idea. "Maybe he's just being nice. He has always been so supportive."
"Yeah, supportive like a big brother. Trust me, Brooke did the same when she's not on the rag."
"What are you saying? That Brad sees me as a little sister all these time?"
"Pretty much!" Paige said without a doubt. "At least that's how I see it."
"And you didn't say anything??"
"Hey, I respect how you choose your friends too!"
"Oh My God! What am I gonna do?"
"Sometimes you just have to let things go."
"Like what? Who?"
"Maybe Brad is just someone who happened to be in your path, maybe there's someone else out there for you."
Kendall collapsed to her bed, feeling the world crumbled around her. Being with Brad she felt acceptance, like she was one of the seniors, away from being the nine-years-old little girl that everyone sees from the show. But now thinking Brad has been seeing her the same way, she felt her heart wrenched.
On top of all the confusion and panic came another person who treats her like a little girl. Jill Vertes stood by the door with the house phone in her hand, smiling from ear to ear.
"Kendall, guess who just asked you out?" her mother spoke in her high pitch. "Supreme Judge's wife, Joanne!"
"Mom, why must you refer to them in full title?"
Kendall didn't like the way her mother shows off her new best friend, but neither did she like her calling some high judge on first name basis.
"Kendall, Joanne asked for a favor. She wants you to join her daughter's school trip this weekend."
"But Mom, Saturday we film the pyramid."
"Screw the pyramid! This is a court order, Mommy will back you up if Abby gives you any crap!"
"Is Sebastian going?" Paige's voice came from Kendall's cell phone.
"Oh No. Why are you still here?"
"You didn't exactly say goodbye." said Paige unimpressed.
"Kendall wants to know if Sebastian is coming." Kendall turned back and saw her mother talking on the landline.
"Oh My God, Mom! Are you still on the line??" Kendall dreaded, thinking the other end must heard everything, she tried to salvage the scene. "Mom! I didn't ask, Paige asked."
"Yes Kendall, Sebastian is coming. Isn't that great?"
Both Jill and Paige cheered in the air, leaving Kendall grunting in the middle.
