028: Forever Rain (Taennie)

her parents visited her house and decided to fight there, the rain wasn't helping the situation. their loud voices coming together with the loud raindrops and thunder made jennie cover her ears with her shaking hands.

she closed her eyes and kept chanting the words "everything is going to be okay" while burying her head on her knees. it wasn't something new for her but it still makes her feel anxious and nervous whenever her parents fought.

"look at you daughter!" jennie's eyes shot open after hearing her mother's voice. "she ended up being a lazy ass like you!" that's not true, jennie thought. she worked so hard to survive without their financial support.

"don't act like she's not starting to become a whore like you!" her father fired back. jennie's heart started almost combusted after hearing those words coming from her own father's mouth.

she's not lazy... she's not a whore... why are they being like this? they really think that it's okay to call their daughter names?

the fight carried on and jennie couldn't take it anymore. she grabbed her hoodie and escaped through the back door. her parents didn't even notice her leaving as they were too engrossed on their fight.

she stepped outside and covered her ears after a loud thunder boomed. the rain soaked her converse shoes, as well as her hoodie, but she couldn't care less. she just wants to escape from that madhouse.

she wasn't a kid anymore, she was a grown woman with a stable job and great income, yet her parents would still act like that in front of her, and she would still get scared.

as she walked down the sidewalk, she shivered from the cold wind, her tears streaming down her face along with the raindrops.

after giving some thought into it, jennie finally decided to go to the person she trusted the most.

kim taehyung.

she ran as fast as she could to reach his house and as a result, she slipped and scraped her knee. it was painful, but jennie knew that she had to keep on going.

"ah, tannie, daddy is tired," taehyung sighs after yeontan jumped on his stomach, wagging his tail happily, "why are you so happy tonight, huh? is someone coming over?" he jokingly furrowed his eyebrows while cradling yeontan in his arms.

a knock was heard.

taehyung and yeontan froze and looked at each other. he placed the dog on the couch, heading towards the front door to see who it was. he expects it to be his jin or hoseok hyung, so he didn't bother putting his white shirt on.

he ruffled his fluffy hair and twisted the door knob open. "what do you want— jennie?" his words got stuck on his throat after seeing the poor girl shivering outside.

"taehyung-ah, can i... can i come inside?" she rubbed her wet hands, her lips quivering.

taehyung immediately pulled her inside and engulfed her in a hug, trying to give her some of his body heat. "why were you out this late? are you insane? you could catch a cold, dummy." he scolds her but his voice was soft and calm.

jennie didn't say anything. she just closed her eyes and enjoyed the warmth she was getting. on the corner of the room, yeontan stared at them.

taehyung broke the hug and placed the back of his hand on her forehead, trying to check if she was warm. "i'll let you borrow some of my clothes." taehyung pats her shoulders and sprinted to his bedroom.
