{Previously: Bucky sighed and buried his face into one of the couch pillows before drifting off to sleep.}
...

Sun beams streamed in through the window, waking you up.

You pulled the blanket over your head, getting ready to go back to sleep.

Before you could, a thought crossed your mind, "This doesn't feel like my bed."

You sat up quickly and looked around the unfamiliar room. Shakily, you jumped out of the bed and started pacing.

Some of the previous nights memories began flooding your brain, along with an agonizing migraine.

You made your way over to the door of the room and peeked out of it, seeing if anyone was awake yet.

When you hadn't seen any movement you decided to tiptoe out of the room and make your way across the small living area.

"You're awake," a voice said from the kitchen. You just froze.

Slowly, you turned to see Bucky making breakfast.

"Uh- yeah, I need to get back home. To feed my cat..." Okay, so it was a cliche excuse, but you barely knew this guy.

"Oh c'mon, I've already made breakfast and Steve and I couldn't possibly eat all this alone." He smiled.

Something about that goddamn smile made your heart flutter. You internally sighed, "Okay I'll stick around for breakfast."

Bucky did a little happy dance making you giggle.

You sat down on the stool and watched him flip pancake after pancake.

After a while, Steve came in through the front door carrying brown paper bags, "I got milk, but there wasn't any of that juice you like."

Bucky nodded at him and helped him put some of the groceries away before going back to cooking.

"Did you sleep okay? I'm sorry, we would've taken you back to your place but we didn't exactly know where it was," Steve apologized as he sat down next to you.

You shook your head, "No don't worry about it. I get it, sorry for making you babysit me."

"It really wasn't a big deal," he smiled.

"Alright you two, enough apologetic banter. Taste this," Bucky said as he held up a fork to your face.

On it was a piece of pancake drizzled in maple syrup. He'd even made sure to get a strawberry right on top.

You leaned forward and took a bite, raising your eyebrows in delight. "Is that cinnamon I taste?"

"Good, right?" Bucky smirked.

Steve rolled his eyes at Bucky's flirtatious manner.

After you'd all talked and laughed some more over breakfast, Steve offered to take you home.

"No it's alright, really. I can walk," you protested.

"I know, but I want to make sure you get there safely." He grabbed his coat and began to shrug it on.

"Steve-" you tried but he interrupted you.

"I'm taking you, end of discussion," He smiled triumphantly.

You rolled your eyes, embarrassed that you would have to explain this to somebody you just met.

"Steve, I don't have a home. Not really." You explained.

Steve just sat there with his brows furrowed in confusion.

You walked over and sat on the couch before running a hand through your hair, "I got evicted because I wasn't able to pay this months rent. I lost my job. That's the whole reason I was out last night, I was trying to forget about it for a while."

Steve looked down at the floor.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to dump all of this on you. It's not your problem," you said getting up to leave.

Suddenly, Steve got an idea and quickly turned around to stop you, "You can stay with us!"

You tilted your head, skeptical of where he was going with this. "What?"

"I mean, at least until your able to get back on your feet. We'd be happy to help you out," Steve said reassuringly.

He had decided to ignore his friend who was subtly gesturing for him to shut up and stop.

You beamed, glad that there really were kind people in this world.

As the initial excitement passed, the smile on your face faded, "I could never burden you like that-"

Steve dismissed your worries, "No it's perfect! Buck could move into my room and you can have his."

Okay now Bucky was really pissed. He gave Steve a death glare, attempting to burn his best friend's face off with just the rage in his eyes.

You spun around, "Really? Would you be okay with that Bucky?"

Bucky's expression changed immediately to a very exaggerated fake smile. "Totally!" He replied in a strained voice.

You flung your arms around the nearest boy, it happened to be Steve, and thanked the two of them repeatedly.

Steve smiled and found comfort in your warm embrace.

But oh was Bucky going to kill him later...
