"Te .. Do you think if we were younger we could've cried at the farewell messages they shared?"- New
New was thinking deeply as he stared at the moving lights outside Tay's iceberg The van was dark inside but Tay could see the distraught on New's face. Regardless he asked to know what the latter was thinking about.
"Young like those 3 kids, Prom, Fourth, and Gemini?" - Tay
"Yeah, I was thinking am I too cold for just a simple message to them?"- New
"Those short words, did you mean that? are you sincere?"- Tay
"Of course, I just think that it was a bit cold towards them" - New
"If those three days you have spent together every minute they must have an inkling feeling that you are a person of a few words, they understand because it's you" - Tay
Then New's phone rang and a text message. It was from Off.
"Off: Why didn't you guys hug and cry."
Without replying to it he read the text to Tay, New smiled a complicated feeling left in his chest.
"Tell me na Nah Hin, what's wrong?"- Tay
New sighed still looking over the car window, as it began to rain. Lights passing by their car can shine on his face and be enveloped in the dark again.
"I just thought that if we have stayed longer or stayed the whole week maybe the kids won't be sad. Gemini, Fourth, and Prom are good kids. They ask me to play games once outside" - New
"Then meet with them, and go out have fun" - Tay
Tay grabbed New's hand, entwining his fingers to it giving it a light squeeze.
"I didn't promise, I am so busy Tay I can't let them down by promising to meet when I can't even meet with my doctor for an appointment." - New
"If you are sad because you will miss them just say so, you already followed them on ig a simple message would do and words of encouragement" - Tay
"I guess you're right, am I being emotional because I am so tired today" - New
"Hey Hin, you can't always protect everybody. I know what you are thinking. Things happened and it did give them experience and a reason to grow, they still have a long way like you and me" - Tay
"I know... Te?" - New
New faced Tay and scooted closer to lean on his shoulders.
"Why didn't you read the rest of the note?"- New
"I felt that you should just say it to me personally" - Tay
"No, in your dreams Nong Teeee" - New
Then Tay kissed the back of New's hand. With New almost lying on Tay's chest as the older pulled him closer hugging him from behind.
" I .. Thank you, Te, for always being there. I wouldn't have made it these past few days without your encouraging words. " We can't always please others, as humans, we make mistakes we don't own an explanation every time people point fingers at us without knowing the full context." You always repeated that every day for me. I just hope that when you need someone to lean on run to me like what I do, I would gladly welcome you with open arms." - New
"I know Hin, I know... Thank you" - Tay
He hugged New tighter both basking in each other's warmth.
"Sleep na Jah we still have a few minutes before we reach home, I'll wake you up" - Tay
He made New comfortable in his arms, caging him in an embrace with a smile on his face.
"I love you Hin always ..." - Tay
He kissed New's hair.
" I love you too, Te" - New
The soft reply of New made his heart full, he could not ask for anything more as his days that were full of stress, almost giving a mental breakdown had vanished just to hear his lover's soft voice and the other whispered sweet nothings till' he dozed off in his arms.

After being a Polca when they were not doing anything together... SH is like a pot of gold at the end of TayNew's rainbow. For only a few days we get to see them interact with each other. I hope they will work again in the future... 💙
