[Time skip recap]

The past two months had been going well for Isla; she was winning competitions with Ranger and getting closer to qualifying for the USA Olympic Show Jumping Team selection process.

"Jay, what's wrong?" Hailey asks her husband, noticing the worry and panic on his face.

"Isla texted us 5 hours ago saying she was just getting on Ranger, correct?" Jay questioned.

"Correct. Babe, she's probably fine. You know she easily loses track of time at the barn." Hailey tried to calm her husband, knowing how worried he gets when he doesn't hear from Isla.

"She texted me 90 minutes later, saying..." Jay said, turning his phone to show his wife his conversation with their daughter.

"Jay

"Jay. Isla always lets us know when she's done with one horse and plans for her next ride. Why is today different?" Hailey asked, still not understanding why Jay was so worried.

"Then, 90 minutes later, she texted me, telling me she was done with Ryder. Then about 30 minutes after that, she texted me 30 minutes later a picture of her and Navajo, telling me they're off on a trail ride."

"Did she go alone?" Hailey asked, getting herself a glass of water.

"Yeah, but she's gone alone on trail rides with Nav several times; I'm not sure why I have a bad feeling now."

"What's going on?" Hank asks the two, walking into the breakroom.

"Jay's getting worried because we haven't heard from Isla since she sent Jay a picture of her and Navajo, saying 'going on a trail ride,' Hailey responded, slight annoyance in her tone.

"Sarge, I just have a bad feeling. Usually, her trail rides are an hour, and she always messages me when she's turning around to return to the barn. I haven't heard from her in three hours." he sighed, "I'm sorry I'm being a concerned father, Hailey."

"There's nothing wrong with being a concerned father, but you overreact." Hailey snapped back at her husband.

"OK, enough. Let's look for her, and we don't have a case right now anyway." Voight suggested stopping the two parents from arguing further.

"Thank you, Sarge," Jay said, following Hank out of the break room to inform the team of the situation.

Hailey and Jay were driving down the main road to the barn when Hailey noticed something on the side of the road.

"Jay! Jay, slow down," Hailey said, tapping his arm to get his attention.

"What? What is it?" Jay asked his wife, slowing his truck down even more.
