"Anna heard someone rev their engine?" Hailey asked.

"Yeah," Kevin asked, feeling he knew what Hailey would say next.

"Isla said 'revved engine' when we were in the truck on the way here," Hailey said.

A look of worry instantly washed over Hailey's face. "Hailey, calm down. We'll get to the bottom of this. Let's worry about Isla getting better, and once she's ready to answer some questions, we'll ask her what she can remember." Kim reassured her friend.

Hailey nodded before wiping her face and walking, Jay following.

"Hey, she's going to be just fine. You heard what Connor said." Jay said, trying to reassure his wife, knowing she blamed herself for thinking he was overreacting. Sure enough, seconds later, Hailey broke down in sobs.

"You were right, Jay, something was wrong, and I just thought you were freaking out over nothing." She sobs.

Jay's heart broke, seeing the state his wife was in. "Babe, you can't blame yourself for this. It could've as easily been the other way too. We could've shown up at the barn, and she was excellent. There's no doubt in my mind that you would've said, 'I told you so." he said, wrapping his arms around the woman he loved as tightly as possible.

A few moments later, Hailey calmed down and pulled out of Jay's embrace, allowing Jay to wipe the remaining tears off her face.

"You ready to wait for her to return from her tests?" Jay asked his wife.

"Yeah, let's wait for her," Hailey responded before reaching down and grabbing her husband's hand.

The two walked back to the waiting room, where the rest of the intelligence unit was sitting around waiting for any news on Isla. Hailey and Jay broke apart, walking over to where Kim and Trudy were sitting, sitting right between the two.

"Have you guys heard anything yet?" Kim asked, setting her hand on Hailey's back in a comforting way.

"No, she's still having tests done. I'm hoping it won't be too much longer." Jay responded.

Fifteen minutes later, Will comes out to the waiting area; everyone instantly stands up, waiting for Will to give the suspected update.

"Guys, I'm not her doctor; I don't have any update on Isla. Connor told me to tell you guys she's back in her room, and you can come back and see her." Will said, chuckling at the group.

Hailey jumps up, sprinting to her daughter's room, the rest of the group following behind her. She walks up to Isla's bed and plays with her daughter's hair, getting lost in her thoughts, not realizing her husband is trying to get her attention.

"Hails," Jay says, slightly louder, giving his wife a slight shake on the shoulder to get her attention.

"Sorry, what?" She says, shaken out of her thoughts.

"Connor's here," he told his wife softly; Hailey nodded.

"Okay, Isla's extremely fortunate; she doesn't have a concussion. I want to keep her here overnight for observation, but it's looking like she'll be able to go home first thing in the morning," Connor told the parents.

Hailey visibly relaxed, hearing that her daughter was okay. "If only Jay had her luck," she joked, earning a laugh from both Will and Connor.

"It'd be nice not to have to worry every time Jay came here on a stretcher," Will joked back.

"She should be up within the next half hour," Connor told Jay and Hailey, giving Will a slight nod before walking out of the room. Will then left the room shortly after that, having to get back to his patients.
