Friend or something more?

Pond had a hard time making changes in the schedule and arranging the meetings for the upcoming two weeks. Thankfully, everything went fine and he didn't have much trouble. After he was done, he went to Ae's cabin to hand him the diary.

When he entered the place, he saw that Ae was standing near the window and staring outside. It's been long since he had seen Ae like this. It happened only when Ae was hurt or thinking about something deeply.

Pond cleared his throat trying to gain the attention of his friend and as expected Ae turned to look at him. "I have rearranged the schedule for the next two weeks and I guess there wouldn't be much problem." Pond said placing the diary on the table.

"Thank you." Ae said quietly and then moved to look out of the window. Pond was about to leave when he heard Ae's voice. "Do you know where Pete is? How is he doing? Is he having meals on time?" Ae asked. Pond was surprised when he heard Ae inquire about Pete.

"Ae, Pete had left so stop thinking about him. As for your question, he is fine and his family is taking care of him. And since you don't actually care about what he feels, you can stop thinking about him. He won't be coming back so you will have to hire someone else to do the work." Pond mocked before storming out of the room.

Ae knew that Pond was angry with him since he had hurt Pete. But he couldn't understand why he was thinking so much about him. When he said that he didn't have any feelings towards Pete, why was it bothering him whether the other person had his meals on time or not. Ae was aware of the fact that Pond was in contact with Pete but he knew better not to ask for his number since there was no way Pond would share it with him.

Ae had no other option than just to recall the memories where he would see Pete doing work. Ae smiled when that cute face popped up in his memories. 'Was I wrong to understand my own feelings? Do I actually consider him more than friend?' Ae questioned himself.

There was a knock on the door snapping Ae out of his thoughts and he looked up to see Dao entering the office. "Dao, Pond must have informed you that you have been assigned new work. For now, we will see if you are able to do the work properly so better make sure not to do any mistakes. These are some files that needs to be corrected urgently. You can check them, make the corrections and hand over to me before going home. You will be doing this work so concentrate only on this and not anything else. I expect better results." Ae said.

"Okay sir..." Dao said as she picked up the files and walked out of the office. Ae picked up the phone and placed an order for a coffee while he checked the diary for his schedule.

It was around past lunch time when Dao appeared with the files in her hand. "Sir, I have finished checking these and have tried to do my best. Apologies if I couldn't be accurate but I have put in all my efforts." Dao informed.

"Fine... Keep them on table and I will check them and let you know. You can go back and resume your earlier work and if anyone asks you about anything just tell them that you were being called by me." Ae said. Dao replied with a short 'okay' and quickly returned back to her table.

Ae grabbed one of the file and began to inspect work to make sure that Dao had done her work properly so that he could hand her the remaining files for the correction. Ae was more than surprised when he saw that there were hardly any parts that were left but Dao had managed to cover up most of the stuff and the work was near perfect. He placed the file aside and checked the remaining ones and was relieved seeing the work being done properly.

He picked up his phone and asked Dao to come to his cabin. The intern was scared thinking that she might have done some mistake and would be getting scolded. Nevertheless, she did what she was asked to do and entered Ae's office. She held her breathe waiting for being scolded but instead she was surprised by what Ae said, "Dao, you did a great work. From tomorrow onward, you will be in charge of checking these files before handing them to me. Pond will let you know about your duties and workplace. Whatever work of yours if left, try to wind it up by today because from tomorrow onward you will be working as my assistant." Ae informed.
