Meeting the Alpha:

Hayden's P.O.V (The Alpha)

As I head towards the pack house I can't help but let my mind wander to this unusual problem that Max, my Beta, claims to have.

Soon the pack house comes into view, and I can't help but take a minute to admire it. Tall, luscious green trees line the white gravel path to the manor house in an orderly fashion. In front of the house sits a majestic white marble fountain, surrounded by a circular drive way. The house stands at six floors high, homing over six hundred of my pack mates.

I pull up the car and park directly in front of the stairs to the porch, and walk slowly towards the mahogany double door. The porch is held up by white marble pillars with golden designs lining them.

The doors were opened by two of the omegas, who kept their heads down as they did so. My footsteps radiated throughout the entry, creating a sudden silence throughout the pack house, they knew not to speak. My sensitive ears picked up what seemed to be whimpers of pain from below my feet, causing me to draw my eyebrows together in confusion.

I am brought back to reality by a subtle cough form Max, causing me to turn my icy glare towards him. He squirms under my gaze before finally speaking, "Welcome home, Alpha" Max says, bowing his head quickly in respect.

"Thank you, Max. I believe we have much to discuss." I reply harshly, calculating in my head all the possibilities that would cause him to call me home early from a meeting with the alphas that had been scheduled for months, but I could find nothing. "Lead on" I usher him, walking towards the right stair case, Max in front of me.

"Back to what you were doing!" my voice commands the pack members, warning those who seem to be a little too interested in the conversation between the Alpha and Beta.

After a short ride in the elevator we head towards my office. Once inside I sit down behind my desk and encourage Max to sit in the chair in front of my desk. "So, what was so important that you had to interrupt my meeting, you know that I have many problems that need to be discussed with the Alphas!" I demand, staring at him frostily.

"Well, you see... I...well we...ugh...there was this...well...we...umm...we found a rouge on the land...and they...well...umm... they...well...had been...you know...they were...well abused by their pack...and...well the alpha did nothing...I thought...well I knew...well I believed you would want to know about this." Max stuttered out, fear creeping into his eyes as mine darkened at the word rouge.

"Rouge, you say? Well where this rouge is you speak of?" I enquire; my eyes have probably turned the deep honey colour that alerts people that my wolf is at the surface.

"The dungeons, Alpha, I felt that was the safest place to put 'em, but I don't think that they are much of a threat" Max tells me, wringing his hands I a show of his nervousness.

"Do you know which pack this Rouge comes from, maybe they are a spy" I growl at him, the thought of a spy in my pack angering my wolf.

"I don't know what pack they come from, thought I have high doubts that their spy" he replies, seeming to be telling the truth.

"You trust this rouge!" I roar at him, angered by his foolish belief in a monster.

"I can't explain it, I just have a good feeling about this one, Alpha, and maybe they're not as bad as the others that we have met." Max seems so convinced that this rouge is better than the rest, his eyes have a glint in them, and it's one I haven't seen in anyone's eyes since my father's death. It's hope, determination and a little happiness.
