At twenty five, I was getting a bit restless. As I had got older more and more of my friends and family found their mates.

Alexis, my sister in law, was one of the lucky ones. Finding her mate at seventeen, and having pups by eighteen. Granted my brother was twenty four when he found her.

I am starting to believe that I will be one of the unlucky wolf’s, who never get a mate and have to try and find a human husband.

I had moved out of the pack house, and into a house of my own which was a five minute walk away.

Suddenly the doorbell rings, and I rush to answer it. As I open the door I realise it is a rather stressed looking Alexis, with Ashton in his pram.

Alexis is currently six months pregnant with her and Hayden’s seventh and eighth children, both boys again. So now I have seven nephews and one niece.

“I am so sorry for turning up so suddenly!” She tells me as I help to get the pram into the hallway.

“It’s no problem!” I tell her, eagerly taking Ash from the pram as she takes a seat on the sofa.

“It’s just, Hayden is off on that business trip until Wednesday, I’ve got the triplets first parents evening at school, Brook and Christian are at a friend’s, your mum has a cold, and there is no one to look after Ash!” she tells me, rubbing soothing circles on her swollen stomach and shifting in her seat, “So, I know it’s short notice but I really need someone to baby sit Ash”

I think everyone had noticed that this pregnancy was being harder on Alexis than the others were, which was a shock as she is only 22, so shouldn’t have any problem in regards to carrying the twins, especially since she did so well with the triplets.

“Of course I can!” I reply “you know how much I love spending time with my little nephew!” I make funny faces at Ash, making him laugh and bounce himself up and down as I stand him on my lap with my hands around his middle.

“Thank you! You don’t know how worried I was about finding someone to look after him!” she gushes out, trying, and failing to stand.

I sit Ash up on the sofa; surrounded by pillows, then take Alexis’ hands and gently pull her up off the sofa and onto her feet.

Alexis then picks Ash up and kisses all over his face, saying goodbye, then hands me the massive baby bag and tanks me again before leaving.

“Well, Ash, it’s me and you” I tell him, watching as he sucks on his fist happily.

After a quick nappy change, were off to the shopping centre as I wanted to buy some things for my niece and nephews, I also need to get a christening gift for the unborn twins.

Ash sits happily in his pram, facing me and playing with his toys. His baby bag is in the net under the pram, and my shopping is on the handle of the pram.

I head towards the closest restaurant, leaving the pram in the designated area and taking out a bib for Ash.
