LEIA | ADAMOS
I'm sure I've never been this cold in my entire life. Wearing a crop top and skirt skirt with just a leather jacket for warmth in New York winter temperatures is a fucking suicide mission.
However, I somehow managed to do it without catching hypothermia and without getting catcalled.
Funny how I get catcalled when I'm covering up but not when I'm wearing the most revealing outfit known to man.
Anyway, I'm now marching up to the front desk in the police station, ready to demand my brother back. In my pocket is a whole wad of cash that I stole from Kylo's pocket and I may have also taken some funds from a homeless man's cup on accident.
"Kylo Adamos?" I say, slamming the cash down on the desk. "I have bail money, okay? He needs to come home now."
"Not so fast." The officer raises an eyebrow at me, clicking on his computer. "First off, Kylo Adamos doesn't currently have a bail set. Secondly, we can't just let him go."
"Why not?" I ask, agitated.
He squints at me, licking his lips a little when his eyes go down to my cleavage. "How old are you?"
"None of your business, we're talking about Kylo Adamos, remember? Not me, him."
The officer sighs, pulling up Kylo's mugshot and turning the screen to me. "If I'm not mistaken...this is him, right?"
Yep, it's definitely Kylo.
His wavy hair is a mess, probably scruffed up from the fight he had. Since he's a relitelvely goofy drunk, my brother has decided to give the camera a wide smile, his dilated pupils making him look like a crazy man.
"It's him." I confirm, tapping my fingernails on the marble counter.
"Right so, he was arrested for Drunk and Disorderly. He's not going to be imprisoned or set bail but we will need to keep him overnight so he can appear before the Magistrates Court the next day. There, they can give him a fine."
He has to be joking. Kylo cannot stay in a prison cell for 24 hours, he'd go fucking crazy.
Usually my brother isn't violent at all when he's drunk. If anything, I sort of prefer Kylo when he isn't sober to when he is. But if someone can manage to get him angry enough when he's intoxicated then all hell can break loose.
Which is the reason why I'm here in the first place.
I'm worried that if he stays in here for a whole day that one of the other guys might get him mad and set him off again, resulting in him staying in here even longer or even being charged with something more serious.
"Can't he just come home to me?" I beg. "I promise he'll get to the court of whatever tomorrow. He won't skip!"
"Yeah, right." The man snorts. "How old are you again? Even if I wanted to release him, I can't leave him in the care of someone underage."
"I'm twenty-one." I lie with ease, sticking my chest out a little more. "You want ID?"
"Please."
I dig in the pockets of Kylo's jacket, shoving the 'bail' money back in and taking out my fake ID.
"See? Look, it says 1998." I point at the date of birth.
"I can read, thank you." The officer examines it. "Adamos? What are you, his sister?"
"Yep." I nod, still shivering a little. "So..?"
He shakes his head, passing the ID back. "Sorry, sweetheart. You can pick him up from court tomorrow if you want."
