~OC 5 - Matilda ~

"We may have been friends once, but that was long ago. You know what you did"

Name: Matilda Rosenberg (And yes, her surname is a reference to a musical, if you know, cool)

Nicknames: Marty (Friends), Rose (Shortened version of her last name), Marty-Rose (Combining a nickname for her first name with a shortened version of her surname. She only lets close friends call her this since she finds it annoying, her friends are an exception), Petal (What her mother calls her)

Age: 16 (Season 1) - 19 (Season4)

Personality: She is a determined girl, as well as very honest, brutally so at times. The only time she will lie is if the truth would be better unsaid for emotional reasons. She is also a bit of a jokester, always finding any opportunity to crack a joke or make a pun. She is hesitant to love someone, after experiencing heartbreak multiple times in the past, and refuses to admit her feelings, afraid she would have her heartbroken again, however, she doesn't let it stop her being friends with people. She's easily startled. She refuses to cry in front of others, afraid that they'd see her as pathetic, having been laughed at in the past for crying.

Looks: Light brown hair, usually tied in a braid (Imagine Katniss's braid from hunger games), grey eyes, pale skin. She's average height.

Outfits/general style: Button up shirts, overalls, boots. She wears a lot of jewellery, that she makes herself (A bracelet that is just a chain made of ring pulls from soda can, and a necklace with bottle caps as charms). 

Crush: 

Steve (Childhood friends to enemies to friends again to lovers. That is how complicated the dynamic is)

Cara Rosenberg (Mother, Alive)

Annalise Rosenberg (Alive, sister)

Albert Rosenberg (Father, D!ed before the show starts)

"Adventure is calling."

Backstory: She was born in Dallas, and spent the first 6 years of her life there, though her mother decided to move to Hawkins with Matilda and her older sister shortly after the young girl turned 6, as her father had died, as her mother thought it would be best for them to be nearer to the rest of their family, who happened to live in Hawkins. 

Of course, she moved there at a young age and had a hard time making friends at first, being new and all. 

She started halfway through the school year, and took a while to make friends. Although, she made friends with one of the boys in her class halfway through her second year after being made to sit next to him, that kid being Steve.

The two went through school as close friends. But once they got to highschool, they're friendship seemed to fall apart completely. Having gotten close with the popular crowd, becoming one of the most popular kids in school, Steve had started to hang out with the crew we see him with in season 1, never speaking to Matilda anymore. He even went as far as to laugh at her when she was humiliated in front of a hall full of students.

Matilda felt betrayed, someone she'd been friends with since childhood had joined in on the mockery. She confronted him about it, which led to an argument, and the two ending their friendship. 

Now we get to season 1, the two would still seemingly hate each other, when ever they passed each other they would simply glare at each other. Although, these brief moments would be the only times we see Matilda in the first season until she stumbled upon Johnathan and Nancy while they were in the woods, and she just happened to get dragged into the chaos. She didn't go with them to the Byers house though when they were dealing with demogorgan, instead staying back to keep an eye on the kids.

During Season 2, Matilda would be a little more involved, having some prior knowledge to everything. She had formed a friendship with Nancy after the events of the previous year, and spoke to her more often. One day, some students had been particularly cruel to her, having tripped her up in art, leaving her covered in paint, then at one point even locked her in a supply cupboard, she decided to head over to Nancy's house during the afternoon to seek comfort from her friend. When she arrived she noticed Steve outside Nancy's window with flowers, and Dustin walking away. She ended up going with the two of them to find dart, though she glared at Steve for quite a while, and in turn Dustin asked why she seemed to hate Steve and she explained. Although, being stuck helping and being stuck with Steve, the two ended up making up and were friends again.

During Season 3 she worked with Steve and Robin, befriending the girl, and once again being dragged into the chaos. Other than that, season 3 is pretty much the same, but with her in it. (I can imagine this being where her and Steve start to ya know, realise they like each other)

And same goes for season 4.

And because I'm bored here's a playlist of stuff I think she'd listen to, because why not? (And yes, most of these are the sort of music I love.) More songs will be added in the future
