As the flood gates open, and the waves came tumbling in, the cities around them changed - but not enough for those who really needed it.
"Forgive me Father,"
Small Heath changed for the better, and also for the worst, Bash Shelby didn't know how to fit into the city he was born and raised in. things were harder for him, sight was his everything - and now the blurred flashes he saw made living his life the way he wanted to - almost impossible.
"I do not know what I did to deserve this."
The people he once loved to spend time with, couldn't stand the sight of him, ironic - really, and he found himself sat in the rooms of people he'd never have talked to, had things been different. Had things been different. he'd be happier, he wouldn't feel like burden, like the one person people would rather ignore than acknowledge.
"My faith is wavering."
In Small Heath, the Shelbys had a social standing that they wouldn't have had anywhere else, they meant something to the people of Watery Lane, of the backends near the Garrison, to the people of the docklands.
The faith they have in those boys hadn't wavered, not even with the news. It just .. changed.
They were home now.
