A pair of figures walked down a sidewalk hand in hand, taking in the cool autumn atmosphere. They didn't speak, just quietly appreciated the world around them. The shorter of the pair spoke up, pointing out a little coffee shop across the street.

"Look there, that one looks nice!"

The other just nodded in sleepy agreement. He hadn't slept very well. The couple crossed the street by the crosswalk nearby and pushed open the door of the shop, the cheerful tinkling of a bell greeting them.

The inside of the shop was cozy and inviting, only a few people inside. The barista greeted them with a wave. Thunder waved back while Shadow stood, half asleep by his side. They sat down at a table by the window. Thunder was looking dreamily out of it while shadow laid his head in his arms against the table, possibly asleep. His hood fell over his eyes leaving his nose the only part of his face that was visible. Thunder noticed this and laughed.

After a few minutes of peaceful silence, a human waiter walked up to the pair with a notepad.

"Are...they okay?" He asked, gesturing toward Shadow.

"Oh, he's just tired." Thunder replied with a smile. "Hey, psst, wake up bonehead." He said, poking Shadow's nose.

"Hmm? wha-whuh...huh?" Shadow said, discombobulated. He tried to look up, but his hood was still covering his eyes, so he ended up looking rather ridiculous.

"What do you want?" Thunder laughed.

"Wha...uhh...Just a...hot chocolate or...something..." He mumbled, not entirely awake.

"I'll have the same then." Thunder told the waiter. He nodded and smiled, walking off.

Shadow melted back into the table, a sleepy puddle. It was fairly quiet after that.

In a few minutes, the waiter came back with the hot chocolates and placed them on the table, silent but wearing a cheerful smile. Thunder thanked him and poked shadow awake again. The pair drank their respective hot chocolates with little conversation, each simply enjoying the pleasant atmosphere.

When they were done, Shadow was even more asleep, and Thunder figured they should probably leave. Having paid, Thunder woke Shadow up for the third time so they could leave. The cheerful bell announced their departure.

"Wow, wouldn't it be cool to own A little place like that?" Thunder remarked, knowing full well that Shadow was too sleepy to answer.
