Thundow Oneshots

Confession

Shadow stood at the edge of the cliff, cold cave wind whipping and howling as it rushed through the cavern. The voice in his head was nearly screaming at him now.

DO IT
JUST JUMP
IT ISN'T THAT HARD
DON'T YOU WANT THIS!?

But Shadow stood frozen by the edge. Not the slightest bit of emotion showed on his face.

DO IT
Or are you too much of a coward to jump?
Are you afraid of death?

"N-no. I'm not afraid."

then JUMP

Shadow took a step - the tiniest step toward the edge, just so that the toe of his boot stuck off over the edge. His knees were weak, shaky. He took a deep breath but couldn't bring himself to jump. He was afraid.

"Shadow!" Shadow jumped at Thunder's voice behind him but didn't turn around. "Shadow...?"

A tear rolled down Shadow's cheek, but he ignored it and stayed facing the vast void of the cave in front of him.

"Leave me alone, Thunder."

"Sh-shadow, what are you..." Thunder's voice was quiet.

"Leave."

"I-I'm not going to leave you here."

"You don't want to be here."

"D-don't do this...please..."

"Why not?" Shadow's voice had an edge of venom to it, but it wasn't towards Thunder.

"B-because...because I..." Thunder trailed away, unable to muster enough courage to say what he wanted to.

"That's what I thought." Shadow turned to face Thunder, spreading his arms to the side and closing his eyes. Another tear fell onto the cold, wet stone. The glowing dots on his face flickered. "Last chance. I'm sorry."

"Shadow! Don't d-do this because I..." Thunder took a deep breath. "Shadow, I'm in love with you!"

Shadow opened his eyes to stare at thunder.

"You...y-you..." He stuttered, his voice breaking.

"I love you."

Shadow collapsed to his knees at the edge of the cliff, tears streaming freely down his face. Thunder was instantly by his side, dragging him away from the edge and into his arms.

"It's alright...I've got you...we're okay..."

"N-nothing's okay!" Shadow choked, clinging to Thunder.

"No...but...I'm here. I'm h-here, Shadow. I l-love you."
