(From the perspective of a regular at the cafe)
I was just chilling over a cup of cocoa, listening to music in my headphones, when someone started yelling. I looked around, along with a few other people in the cafe. Others were just putting their heads down and hunching their shoulders, trying to ignore it.
The person yelling was some lady at the counter, shouting at the person behind it - Thunder, I recognized. One of the owners of the place. The lady yelling was maybe in her 50s and had long dirty blonde hair and overly-patterned clothing that looked like it was made from old curtains she found at the thrift store. I slid my headphones off to listen to the conversation."Why did SHE get HER order before I DID!? I was here FIRST!" The women gestured wildly to someone sitting alone at a table, who was blushing out of embarrassment and determinedly staring down at the table. I would also note that they did not look like a she.
"Look, your order was much larger and takes longer. They got theirs first because it only takes a few minutes to make,"
"I don't CARE how long it takes! I was here first and should get my order first! I want to see your manager about this!"
Ah, a classic; seeing the manager. This was only made better by the fact that she was talking to an owner. I suppressed a smirk.
"Ma'am, I'm the owner of the cafe. I'm going to have to ask you to leave if you can't wait for your food,"
"UGH! Fine, I'll leave! You've just lost yourself a valuable customer!" She spun to leave.
"I think our ideas of "valuable" Aren't exactly the same..." Thunder muttered, which the lady may or may not have heard. If she did, she spared his comment nothing more than a scoff.
Thunder sighed, before addressing the cafe, "Sorry about that. It happens,"
There were a few muttered "No problem"s and "It's fine"s, but not much more.
Thunder walked over to the person that lady was getting so mad about. I heard a gentle, "You okay?"
They nodded quickly. Thunder did so in return, and walked away.
I returned my attention to my music, and slid my headphones back on. My song started up again. There we go, vibes are back on.
...I can't really think right now in this place
There's too many colors,
Enough to drive all of us insane.
Are you dead?
Sometimes I think I'm dead
Cause I can feel ghosts and ghouls wrapping my head
But I don't wanna fall asleep just yet...(This is Home by Cavetown, if you were curious.)
(Anywho, how about this be a double chapter and I can include some bonus dumb reviews?)
(1/5 stars)
I am APPALED by the service!
I was just trying to buy some coffee when I noticed that the staff had PRONOUNS on their nametags!! INSTANTLY ruined my day!!! The barista at the counter had he/they on her nametag! It's so sad that such a beautiful young lady would choose to pretend that she was a male!
It's "woke" new businesses like this that endanger conventional values and Christianity!!
I will NOT be coming back to this establishment!Reply-
Thank you for your review.
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to accommodate for your transphobia. We do whatever we can to respect the identities of our customers and employees, which includes having their preferred pronouns on their nametags. We're sorry that ouy employees identifying as their preferred pronouns ruined your day.
As for your never coming back, be fully support your decision, as we feel it may be uncomfortable for our customers and employees to be in the presence of someone who objects to their very existence.
Please never come back.
All the best,
-The Rainy Day(5/5 stars)
TERRIBLE customer service. One of your employees has the AUDACITY to GET STURDY in the MIDDLE of the restaurant!!! I was just minding my business, sitting at my table, and I see an employee GETTING STURDY only TWO TABLES AWAY! I am APPALLED at the service here and will definitely be coming back.Reply-
Thanks for five stars, Nox. Very funny.
