eddie. eddie. eddie.

that's the only thing in richie's head as the skies are crying along with the boy. the weather is how he's felt the last couple months. gloomy.

a dark cloud is over richie's head like the dark clouds in the sky, blocking out the sun so it doesn't dry up all the rain, leaving puddles for a few days.

eddie hasn't called or picked up the phone at all. 53 times. in the last few months, richie has tried to call 53 times. he gave up, feeling as if it wasn't worth his time.

now he uses the time he would usually talk to eddie and make his stupid jokes to just stay in his room a cry until the tears can no longer come out of his eyes. he would cry so hard and for so long, you might mistake him for being high.

calls and visits from mike wheeler and his friends to check on him and he won't answer. some may say he's going into a state of depression. maybe he is, but that's not something for some kids to conclude. if there's a diagnosis to be sought after, he'd need a psychiatrist.

"richie, come on man. open your door." he heard his cousin say. wherever there's mike wheeler, there's will byers, or occasionally nancy, like at this moment.

"you need to come out if your room. isolation isn't good for you." will added on.

"i will unlock this door myself if i have to!" nancy yelled.

richie slowly got out of his bed. hair is a mess and he smells and looks like he hasn't practiced basic higene in months.

"go. away." he said assertively, trying to close the door but mike stopped it.

"not until you're feeling better."

the next few hours were spent cleaning richie up and making him look presentable while trying go make him feel better.

"so we're planning on going to indianapolis in a few days, wanna come?" mike offered.

"yeah, okay, sure." richie said.

"but first we're going go the mall." nancy said, extending her hand. "and you're coming with us."

richie took her hand hesitantly.

"okay?" richies voice was full of confusion.
