Thomas put the Kassidy-sack down after a short walk of me struggling and him, uh, walking... He put me down in front of somebody who I assumed was Alby.
"I'm assuming you're the newbie."
"PHSYC! You know what they say: assume makes an ass out of u and me!"
"Girl, I don't need your sass!"
"Yes you do. Everybody needs my sass. You just can't comprehend my fabulous!"
Big enHe sighed. "Well, I don't know what to do with you... I guess we'll put her in the slammer for now. I mean, she did break our #1 rule..."
"HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IT WAS A RULE?! IM THE ONLY GIRL IN 50 BOYS, MY SISTER IS IN A COMA, AND I DONT KNOW WHO I AM!" Then, I ran outside again. This time, towards the forest. I found a little hole I could fit into. It was about 5 ft long and 3 ft wide. Big enough for me to lay down in (it was horizontal and pretty well hidden).
I crawled inside. It was pretty warm in there, considering. I heard footsteps. I saw something that made me almost squel with joy. Teresa's shoes. She was awake.
"I know you're in there, Kassy. Come on out." I crawled out and gave her a big hug. She and I walked back to the main Glade. Gally came right up to us. I screamed and tried to run, but Teresa grabbed me before that happened. I hid behind her.
"Listen, Terisa, I mean Teresa. I just want answers."
"We don't know anything." I answered quickly.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me out from behind Teresa. It hurt my arm.
"Listen sha-"
He was cut off by me grabbing his other arm, kicking him in the back of the knees to make him fall, and punching him in the stomach.
"Don't touch me. Ever." I screamed as I pushed my weight into him one last time before Teresa pulled me off. Thomas walked over. As Gally got up, he placed himself between Gally and us. "Gally, leave them alone. Thier gender doesn't mean they have memories. Nor does the fact that I came up last week, or that there are 2 of them and they're siblings."
"SHE HIT ME! SHE HIT ME!" Gally screamed.
"In self defense!" Teresa said. Thomas, Teresa and I walked off. Thomas was explaining how things worked. Then he looked at me: "And we NEVER go into the maze unless we're runners" I rolled my eyes in compliance. Thomas handed Teresa and I sleeping bags. He said we could sleep wherever we wanted. I went back to my hole. I woke up around 5:30am. I guess my body clock was set early. I followed the smell of food. I walked into the kitchen to find one boy, who looked about 17, cooking a meal for 60, frantically.
"Anything I can do to help out? " I asked. He pointed to a pan with bacon. I started frying it and soon had 2 plates piled with bacon. At breakfast everybody commented it was the best they'd ever had. I'd found my place in the Glade.
