Safe.

Mm... Pizza. That smell woke me up. I was starving. I got up and said a casual hello to Teresa and Thomas, but then I went to sit with Zac. I ate my pizza, and it was so good. I laughed at Zac, who had grease all over his face, until he pointed at me, and my face. It was so weird to feel happy right now. I'd lost the people I cared about. Gally, Chuck, Claire... I looked over at Thomas. I could tell he felt the same. I knew I was mad at him, but come on, I had to say something.

Sorry about Chuck... I know how much he meant to you. To me. To all of us. He didn't deserve to die, you know, but he did it for you. Just remember that, Thomas. He did it for you. I said as sincerely as I could inside our heads. Shut up. He responded harshly. Rawr. Someone was more mad at me. Like it was somehow my fault. I didn't understand him either. I went and sat down on a bed to think, but I fell asleep On accident. I woke up in the same room. I guess they didn't want to move me. I heard slight conversations. The bunks were awfully close together. I turned to my side, and I saw Zac, who was awake.

"Hey Zac." I said groggily.

"Morning Sleeping Beauty." He responded jokingly. "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." He said to me, meaning Claire.

"I'll be okay... Eventually." I said. I felt a tear trickle down the side of my face. He held his hand out. I took it. Soon people were asleep, including Zac. So I turned my focus to the conversation going on inside my head. Thomas and Teresa would not shut up.

Feels like I lost a brother

I know

I promised him-

Stop, Tom.

What?

Stop both of you! I'm trying to sleep. I interjected.

We don't care. Said Teresa.

Anyways, said Thomas, stop what?

Stop with the promise stuff. Half of us made it. We all would've died if we stayed in the Maze.

But Chuck didn't make it.

He died saving you. He made the choice himself. Just don't ever waste it.

I was getting tired of this. I rolled over to my side and tried to fall asleep. Eventually, I did.

A/N: hey guys sorry for the delay, I was at summer camp, and then I got caught up in summer work. Thanks so much for almost 70 reads, you have no idea how much it means to have people read this. Yes, I did pull the telepathy dialogue between Thomas and Teresa straight out of the book, but only cause it happened that way. I should know, I was there. Anyways, I'll try to update more often.
