I was sitting in a black, leather chair. A rug of a grizzly bear was laid in front of me. There was a hunting rifle was mounted on the wall. It was the same office like my fathers. It felt... Comfortable.

"Ms. Robinson," someone greeted. I got up and met Mr. Fersworth. He wore a black suit with a white shirt. He wore his reading glasses and had dark hair with a bit of white. He was a tall man, taller than Jev.

"Pleasure to meet you, sir," I said greeting him.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," he said. He smiled kindly and shook my hand.

"Come to the dining room for some tea. Also, to tell me why your here."

I sat at the dining room. Mr. Fersworth sat at the very end of the table and Jev next to me.

"Well sir, about a month ago, my father, Gregory Robinson, was murdered."

Mr. Fersworth nodded. "I was aware. I'm truly sorry my dear. He was a good man."

Jev snorted, but I ignored it. I had way bigger problems.

"I went into his study and found his journal. He-"

"At last," Mr. Fersworth interrupted me.

"Pardon?" I asked.

"It was about time you came to see me, child."

Colin got up and walked out of the dining room. "Follow me," he told Jev and I. We both got up and followed Colin. He walked up the mahogany staircase. There was pictures of Jev as a little kid. There were pictures of a pretty women, whom I believed to be Jev's mother.

Colin walked into a tiny room. There was a sofa that was the same from the one downstairs. There was a picture that had the exact same lady I saw in the hallway. She was beautiful. She also looked vaguely familiar. There was a desk with papers strewn across.

"Father, what is this?" Jev asked.

"This here was my study. It hasn't been used for years. Until I received a telegram three months ago from your father. He told me that you were coming. He sounded so sure of it. Turned out, they showed him. The future, I mean. That's their ability." Mr. Fersworth sat at the chair by the desk.

"Who are 'they?'" I asked Colin.

"Ah, curious I see. Well it's a interesting story. Also, one that is very difficult to understand."

"From what I've seen so far, nothing will sound far-fetched," I replied.

He nodded.

"Alright, they have been around forever."

I decided to be patient with the man. I nodded for him to continue.

"They are these tiny, devious things. They have black eyes and razor sharp teeth. But that's when they Transform into that body. They are normally the size of an ordinary human. When they Transform, they go around to different places. That's where they'll live and mate. You see, they can reproduce, but will only have one mate in life. Their feminam. That's what their mates are called. Anyway, when they are in their tiny form, their enemies turn into their form to attack them. Their enemies are much bigger in size. But don't get me wrong. Just because they aren't the best looking creature, in their human form, they are much more seductive. More handsome. These are the creatures your father and I studied. Mostly Gregory."

I stared at Colin. "Wow." Was all I could say. So that thing in my bedroom was one if them? Why risk exposure for a journal?

"Well, what are they called?" I asked.

Colin smiled. " Mediocris," he whispered. Mediocris?

"You believe him?" Jev asked.

"Of course I do. From what the journal showed me-"

Colin gasped. "The journal showed you? Showed you what?"

"Well, it showed me myself. I'm not sure if that even makes sense. Then it showed me-" I gulped. Do I tell Jev? That it showed me his death.

"It showed me get shot."

"Well that happened earlier today," Jev said.

"No. I mean, yes it did. But it showed me get shot. In the head."

Jev looked taken aback.

"Pity," Colin whispered.

I sat back in my seat. I had to... Digest all the information being thrown at me.

"Maybe it wasn't you," Colin whispered.

"Who else would it be, Colin?" I asked.

He huffed. "Your sister Meredith, of course."

I fainted.
