When I came to, the first thing I saw was Jev's face.
"Are you well?" He asked.
I nodded. I took in my surroundings. Where was I?
"When your certain that your well, Colin wants you to meet him in the library."
All I could do was nod. Everything came rushin' back to me, and I felt a little ill. I am learning about a life my father hid from me. I had a sister? I thought I was an only child. Jev left, leaving me alone in the foreign room. A massive dresser was lined up next to the window. My suitcase was sitting next to the dresser. Next to me was a nightstand. And on the nightstand was the journal.
I was in a different country because of that journal. I left my home because of that journal. I saw what might be my death because of that journal. I hugged the journal to my chest. All of this happened in novels. Imagination, my mother always said. A tear escaped my eyes. My father was murdered. My mother has been depressed, and he shows his love by going with another women! I threw the journal across the room. It was all his fault! I don't know why, but everything went back to my father. The man I thought was loyal. The man...
Tears streamed down my milky skin. I furiously wiped them away. I had a task that needs to be finished. I'm going to find out about this Meredith. This death bound to happen. The Mediocris. The journal.
Everything.

I found my way to the library. It was in the northern part of the house. There was two grand doors that were made out of Brown Auburn. I didn't even know they imported the South's finest wood anywhere else. If they keep that up, it'll be gone. I pushed the doors open and walked into the most amazing library ever.
"Ah, Ms. Robinson. Are you feeling better?" Colin asked me.
"Yes. Much better, thank you," I replied.
"Well, come here. These are the only photos Gregory and I have captured. I walked over to look.
One photo was obviously taken from afar. But I can easily make out the intended reason for the photo being taken.
It was five or six of the flying things I saw in my room. They were perched on a trees limb making a nest.
"These are rouges. They don't live in the big packs the Mediocris usually make. They are isolated in their own nests. They switch to their human form to mate. And eventually, they find their true mate to make a full Mediocris."
"Wait, what happens when they mate with a human?" Jev asked.
"The offspring is a half Mediocris. But the actual term is fatum. They have the same... Abilities as a full Mediocris. But they can't Transform."
I looked at the other photos. They were humans.
"That is a Mediocris in it's human form. They have these uncanny traits that one can watch for to see if they are in their human form. They have a very light blue to a dark green eye color. They don't get sufficed with food. All of this should be in the journal."
I stared at the pictures. How did my father and what the journal is showing me fit into all of this? I looked over at Jev, who has been quiet. He was staring at me. That made me uncomfortable, so I looked back at the photos.
Now time for the other questions.
"Who's Meredith?" I asked.
Colin sighed and sat on his chair.
"We done with the Mediocris?" Asked Colin.
I nodded. "Yes, sir. For now."
"All right. Meredith is your half sister."
"My father had an affair?" I asked doubtfully.
"Unfortunately, yes. Your mother was a fine women, but..." Colin trailed off.
I bit my lip.
"Jev, call the carriage," Colin ordered.
"Where are we going?" He asked.
"To visit Meredith."

{ Jev's POV}
I stayed quiet as my father and Kealiygh talked about the Mediocris. I found it very impossible to believe. But there was evidence all over my fathers study and the pictures...
I shook my head and stared at Kealiygh. She was beautiful. And her southern accent was adorable.
She looked up and caught me staring at her. Her cheeks turned red and she looked down. I smiled.
Then they started talking about Meredith. My stomach started turning. Meredith and I have a conflicted relationship. And now I'm meeting her sister?
"Jev, call the carriage," my father asked.
My head snapped up.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To visit Meredith."
Kealiygh's eyes went wide.
"She's here?" She asked.
Wonderful.
