Hey guys! Since Kealiygh's and Jev's characters have been separated, I'll be bouncing back and forth between their povs okay? Great! And enjoy!

P.S the chapters are gonna get longer :o

(Kealiygh pov)

My vision was poor.

All I saw were stars and blurs.

I lifted my head. I was in a small room. The only thing in the room was a rough mattress. The ground was dirt. Just dirt.

I groaned and sat up. As soon as I did, a door flew open.

"Ms. Robinson. Please, follow me." The person had armor on. It was metal. A sheer, translucent armor. I was able to see through the armor.

"Where am I?" I asked.

The thing laughed. "Why is it that humans always ask such mundane questions?" It asked.

It grabbed my wrist and pulled me out into the corridor. The place was like a maze. There was entrances everywhere. The only lighting came from torches, and that wasn't even enough.

I coughed as the thing grew dust when he walked. The dust made my eyes water and throat to become dry.

Who are these things?

(Jev's pov)

I didn't know how to react. Kealiygh was in there. So I ran into the house. The front door was blocked from the rubble that fell from the second floor. I quickly ran to the backdoor.

"Jev, stop." The voice came from behind me. I turned and saw my father.

"Colin-"

"I would prefer if you called me father rather than my Christian name," Colin scolded.

"Excuse me. Father, how are you here?"

"I may have passed into the other life, but that dosn't mean I can't help you."

I stared at my father. He wore a white suit with a black cane.

"Help me how?" I replied.

"From going into the house. Kealiygh is not in there. The Mediocris have taken her. You have to get her. They plan to use her in their sacrifice."

"How do I get to her?" I asked.

"The dragon. Around it's neck, there is a key. Simply turn the key in midair, and a portal opens. This portal will take you to Kealiygh."

I had a million questions on my mind. Like how it all connected.

But I asked, "What does Mediocris mean?"

Colin was drifting away, but I heard him as clear as a bell.

"Fairy."

(Kealiygh pov)

We stopped walking in front of a grand door. It was dark brown and was the size if a wall. Slowly, they opened.

"Come on," the guard said. I walked into a grand room. A red, plush rug stretched from the door to... The throne. On the throne was a beautiful lady. She had red lips that stood out from her pale skin. Her hair was a dark, dark color. And her eyes changed color everytime I looked at her.

"Kealiygh Robinson. At last. I've heard alot about you. How you continue your fathers work. How... Foolish."

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"Your father was murdered because of his obsession with my kind. My kind is not to be meddled with by humans."

I tensed. Now I knew where I was. The Mediocris have taken me.

"What do you want with me?" I asked.

"We'll get to that. I'm surprised you haven't recognized me."

Then her beauty disappeared. It was replaced with an old hag. The old hag I saw that was with my father.

(Jev's pov)

I found Meredith helping one of her maids.

"You need to get out of here," I told her.

"What?"

"You need to go. Now," my voice was harsher than I intended but I needed her gone.

"No. Kealiygh is my-my sister. Probably the only family I have. I'm not leaving."

I sighed.

Then the monster grabbed Meredith.

"No!" I screamed. The monster had her held by her skirt.

"Help me!" Meredith screamed.

There was nothing to use as a weapon. Then I remembered the sword Meredith kept next to the fire. I ran into the burning building. The air was thick and filled with smoke. I coughed and my eyes watered.

I reached the fire place and I reached for the sword. It had a black handle. The blade was sharp and narrow. On the blade, the same logo as my fathers tattoo was imprinted.

I didn't give it much thought. I ran back outside. The dragon tipped it's head back and roared. I went to the side of the house and climbed up the vines.

I looked up and saw a gold key gleaming in the sunlight. It was attached to a thin string around it's neck.

"Meredith! Grab the key!" I yelled at her.

She looked confused and I pointed up. She looked up and saw the key. She reached up and yanked the key.

Then the monster dropped her.

~~~
(Kealiygh's pov)
I stared at her face. All to soon, her pale face with red lipstick was back.
I couldn't form words. How was this- I don't understand.
She smiled. "I'm Serena Verlac. Queen Serena Verlac of the Mediocris race. Or, the old English term, fairy. Yes we're fairies. We have no beginning and no end. We were just... Here. And we believe that we're more intelligent and dominant than the human race. Many of us have pretended to be one yours, simply to get information. John Hancock, for example. Or the current American President, Abraham Lincoln. Don't look surprised. Your little mind figured it out sooner. And with the help of your fathers journal-"
"The journal didn't help me at all. Only irrelevant visions." I looked at Serena's ever changing eyes. They were currently violet.
"You sure? You haven't- my, my. I figured you smarter than your father."
A loving gleam filled her green eyes. I felt a pang of anger. Whilst my mother was sick, my father went off with another lady. I closed my eyes.
"We want the humans destroyed. And what's smarter than having the humans destroy themselves? What's wrong with taking advantage of your hate and spice it up?"
I had no idea what she was talking about. I felt my heart beat faster. Whatever she's going to say, it's not going to be good.
"I've had a long day. We'll continue this discussion tomorrow. During our Autumnal Equinox Festival. It's going to be loads of excitement, Kealiygh."
I felt myself be dragged away. Dragged back to my mattress.
