As Brittany would say: bring the action!
----------
I abruptly stood up. No. It can't be possible.... I trusted Colin. How could a kind man be associated with a man like Michealson?
"How do you know that name?" Colin asked.
I shook my head. How? Then the doors opened.
"Sorry to intrude. I must dust the library," said an older lady. She wore her hair in a bun. She wore a white apron and a black skirt. She looks at the journal and gasps.
"Is something the matter?" Colin asks. The maid shakes her head.
"Where did you get that?" The maid asks.
"Excuse me?" Colin asks.
"It's not possible," the maid mutters.
"What isn't?" I asked.
"IT'S NOT POSSIBLE!!!!" She yelled. Her head starts to shake violently. She grabs a candlestick and throws it at a book. It instantly catches fire. The maids eyes turned an impossibly light green. It was almost transcluant. Wings replaced where her arms had been.
"Westooun," Colin said.
The thing smiled. "Now thou recognize me?" The things voice was raspy. The fire quickly spread.
"Run!" Yelled Jev. We all ran out the library.
Behind me, I heard the thing cackle.
"Gregory died trying to solve this mess! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU WON'T HAVE THE SAME FATE?!?!" Her voice boomed. The fire was quickly consuming everything.
The front door wasn't in sight. Like the thing behind us made it disappear.
"Your all stupid fools! Our world is to not be messed with humans! They can't handle it!"
I ran into the kitchen and grabbed a chopping knife. I threw it at the maid. It hit her in the eye. She howled in pain.
"Oh my God," Jev whispered. The maid was transforming again. Her body became thin; so thin that you could see the ribcage. The skin became a dark purple hue. Her nails became talons. Her hair thinned out and turned white.
"Kealiygh Robinson, you know to much," the thing rasped. She reached down to grab me. I yelped and ran away.
"This way!" Called Colin. He pulled out a brick and the wall dispersed; revealing a staircase. All of us ran into it. The thing howled it's rage and followed us. The secret door didn't close fast enough.
I picked up the hem of my skirt and ran as fast as I could go. My boots kicking the dirt. I could hear her wings scraping against the cement ceiling.
"Keep running! Dive into the hole ahead!" Said Colin.
I felt her talons rip the fabric of my skirt at the back. The talons scraped my skin, and I screamed. My back felt like it was on fire.
"Go!" Colin said pushing us down the hole.
"Father, what about you?" Jev asked.
"Forget me! You have enough information to solve this!"
And at that, darkness consumed us.

Jev's pov:
I took her back to where Meredith resides. My father sacrificed himself to save us. My eyes stung. All this time, and I always thought Colin was insane.
"What happened?" Asked Meredith.
"A fire. It's a long story. What's wrong with Kealiygh?" I asked. Meredith bent down.
"She's been poisoned. Take her to the infirmary. I'll see if we could help her."
I did as Meredith told me. Meredith was a healer. If she can't help Kealiygh, no one can.
~~~~~~~~
I waited in the dining room, as they worked on Kealiygh. I sipped my tea. Whatever that thing was back at the manor, it was hellbent on killing Kealiygh or destroying the journal.
I froze.
The journal. We left it in the library. It's gone. The fire destroyed it.
Meredith walked into the dining room
"Is she alright?" I asked.
"I was able to take some of it out, and slow down the process. Whatever poisoned her was unlike anything I've ever seen. When you brought her here, the poison was already destroying her nerve cells and her brain."
"How do you know this?" I asked.
She looked frightened, as if the answer would kill us both.
"I- I charmed her to see what was happening."
"Charmed?"
She nodded. "Yes. I'm a Wiccan."
That wasn't surprising. Meredith was an amazing healer.
"So how do we help her?" I asked.
"I've tried everything. Even spells. Nothing worked. She's dying."
I processed this. There had to be a way we could help her. There has to.
"In London, there is a bokor. He could have something that could help heal her."
"What is a bokor?" I asked.
"Someone who deals with demons, black magic, and the Underworld," Meredith said solemnly.
I shook my head. There was to much in this world that we don't know about. And the fact that Meredith knows this...
"We have to go now then. We don't have alot of time," I said.
"A bokor dosn't do something without expecting something in return."
I shook my head. "I really don't give a damn. My father did not sacrifice himself so Kealiygh could die. He believes in her. I believe in her." That last part was from me.
Meredith looked defeated. "Fine. We'll go. But you have to explain everything. I can't help her if I don't know what's going on." Meredith grabbed her coat.
I opened the front door.
"No. We need to get there quickly. Follow me" Meredith turned on her heel and walked to the basement. I followed her. She turned on the light. She opened another door. Inside was a purple back ground.
"What is this?" I asked.
"A Portal. Come on, let's go."
Meredith stepped in the Portal. I looked in. I put one foot in front of the other and stepped in. The door behind me closed by itself.
