Coming Home

After they left Dean went back to Roman's room with the food. As he came in smiling Roman could feel there was a different vibe to Dean now. It was like suddenly the world had been lifted off his shoulders, and somehow Roman knew it was because Dean had fixed things with their family! He watched Dean lay out their food, before he sat on the end of Roman's bed, and they began eating. As they ate they talked about random stuff, sharing laughs, Roman didn't want to ruin the happy mood by bringing up what happened, but knew he had too.

"I'm officially stuffed! Thanks man!" Roman said smiling, as they finished eating.

"You should be fat ass, you ate all your food and most of mine!" Dean teased, as he gathered up all their garbage and threw it out.

"Hey, I haven't had solid food in three weeks!" Roman countered.

"Whatever you say big man!" Dean replied smiling, as he sat back down.

"Dean, can we talk?" Roman asked.

"Sure, what's up?"

"I...I know about everything you did for me, these past three weeks." Roman said gently.

"Oh." Dean said quietly, as he starred at the bed.

"Thank you Dean for everything...including standing up to everyone. I know that wasn't easy and I'll always be grateful to you for your courage and strength." Roman said tears in his eyes, as he took Dean's hand.

"It wasn't easy Ro, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat for you or any one of our family!" Dean replied.

"I know." Roman said squeezing his hand.

"I...I was so scared I was going to lose you Ro! The thought of losing you ripped me apart! I knew if you died, a part of me would have too! I can't imagine my life without you in it Rome!" Dean said crying.

"Come here." Roman said gently, as he moved over so Dean could sit beside him. "I love you D, you're my brother and I promise you no matter what happens I'll always be with you!" Roman said holding Dean tight, before he kissed the top of Dean's head.

"I love you too Roman." Dean said quietly, as both men cried silently.

After their talk, and many tears shared between them, they stayed side by side, neither speaking, they just needed to be close to the other. Finally the silence was broken by Dean yawning, he tried to hide it, but Roman saw and he spoke smiling.

"Go home and sleep D! I'm fine, I promise!"

"Nah, I'm good, really! I can stay a little longer!" Dean answered, as he yawned again.

"Ambrose, don't make me pull the big brother card and kick your crazy ass out of here!" Roman warned.

"What? After all I've done for you, you're going to kick me out?" Dean asked shocked, as he looked at Roman.

"Yep!" Roman answered, as both men smiled.

"Fine, alright, I'm going! Shit Rome, you can be mean when you want to!" Dean said smiling, as he got up and went to get his jacket.

"I have to with brothers like you and Seth!" Roman answered laughing, Dean stuck his tongue out at Roman, before he began laughing too.

Before Dean could say anything though, Roman's nurse; the same one from earlier, came into the room to check on him. Seeing her Roman smiled shyly, blushing a little, she returned the shy smile. Dean watched them quietly a smile on his face, he stood listening to them.

"Hey handsome, how you feeling tonight? Feeling any better from earlier?" She asked flirting with him, as she checked his vitals.

"I'm much better now!" Roman answered smiling, flirting back.

"Really? Well, I...oh, Dean hi! How are you?" She asked blushing, as she finally noticed Dean.

"I'm great Emily, I was just on my way out." Dean answered, as he looked at Roman.

"Oh, you aren't staying?" Emily asked.

"No, I can see Rome is in good hands, so I'm going home." Dean said teasing Roman, who caught his hidden meaning, Emily didn't.

"Don't you have a husband waiting?" Roman said trying to get him to leave.

"I do, so I'm going to go now! Take good care of my brother Emily!" Dean teased again winking, Roman wanted to kill him. "Night guys, see you tomorrow Rome, love you!"

"Love you too Dean!" Roman said hugging him. "I'm going to kill you!" He whispered in Dean's ear.

"Bye Dean!" Emily said waving, as he walked to the door.

"Bye Emily, bye handsome!" Dean teased trying not to laugh.

"Go home Dean!" Roman ordered.

"I'm going, I'm going!" Dean said leaving the room. Once in the hall Dean secretly peeked back into the room and watched Roman and Emily. Dean smiled as he watched them for a few more seconds, before he left, it was so obvious they liked each other; even a blind man could see it! And after all they've been through Roman deserved to finally be happy! By the time Dean got to his car and got in , he had decided he would do whatever it took to make sure Roman and Emily had a chance to give their love a try! Of course he'd have to do it without either knowing, but he liked a challenge, he was Dean Ambrose after all! He knew he'd have to have some help, so once he figured out his plan he'd recruit the usual suspects; Seth, Eddie and Will! He sat back in his seat, putting his head back as he sighed, rubbing his hands over his face. He could finally breathe again, Roman was going to be okay, they still had him to love and Dean couldn't help the laugh that suddenly escaped from his mouth. Life had once again tried to screw with them, but like they always did they fought back and won, coming out stronger than ever! He took out his phone and smiling texted Seth, knowing he'd still be awake.

D- I'm on my way now.

S- I'll be waiting.

D- I love you Seth!

S- I love you too babe!

D- See you soon.

S- Okay, drive safe.

D- I will.

Dean smiled as he put his phone in his pocket and started the car. As he pulled out of the parking lot and began driving home, he couldn't help but think that maybe after all they've been through, things would finally start going right for them! He knew life was unpredictable , but the one constant through it all was the love their family shared! Together there was nothing that could destroy them, family; especially theirs was forever!
