"Oh my gosh, Mrs. Knight, this is so good." I said in-between bites of my breakfast.
"I'm glad." she said and sat down a plate of breakfast burritos in front of me. I grabbed one and took a bite of it and letting the savory flavors explode in my mouth.
"He must eat you out of house and home." Tay laughed and my mother chimed in.
"They all do, but with my husband and his wolf as big as they are they got to eat. Plus he always eats more after they finish training in the mornings. If you think this is a lot just wait."
I grabbed another burrito and swallowed down my water and got up. I kissed my mom on the cheek and then decided to grab another burrito. I was gonna need all the food I could get with the training session I was about to embark on the group.
"This must be one training session." Gabe said, taking a sip of his coffee.
"It is. It's not going to be a fun one." I said and headed out. I got to the training ring and saw a few people already there warming up. I took a bite of my burrito and swallowed when I saw Lucille and her friends walked in and sit down on the mats and started to stretch. Damn she looked good. I kept my eye on her while more of the pack wandered in. Max and Sam came in and headed over and I let them know what the plan was today for training. Once I noticed everyone was in I called everyone's attention.
Max and Sam stood on both sides of me and we began our warm up stretches. Once those were done everyone stood up and waited for the next task. "Now normally our workouts aren't too extreme but since some of us hurt our pack, today will be an extra fun day. Our pack is a unit and we need to be a strong unit. So please give it your all. Sam and Max will be here to ensure we are doing things safely and if it's physically too much for you they will impose a different workout."
"Now we'll beginning with a four mile run today in our human forms. So lets head out to the main road. It's still raining so be careful The ground is paved but it can still be wet." Max said.
We headed out and Sam took lead while Max took the back to help anyone who was have difficulty and I took the middle. We began our run and I looked ahead to see Lucille's white ponytail bobbing as her and her friends ran and chatted. She had a big smile on her face and ran with ease like four miles was nothing. We reached the four mile mark and Sam called it. I put my hands behind my head and took a deep breathe trying to slow my heart rate down. I looked over and Lucille and her friends barely looked like they broke a sweat. They were chatting and laughing while stretching.
We then headed back since and did sit ups, push ups, planks, burpees and more then headed to the weight room. After that, most of the pack members were wiped out or nearly wiped out. Hell I was almost there myself and I trained the hardest.
"Alright guys, we are doing two more miles. It's your choice to do it on the inside track, outdoors or on one of the machines. Keep a good pace but you don't have to push yourself like the beginning run. After that stretch it out and head out for the day. Tomorrow we will be doing fighting sequences." I said. Sam kept an eye on the indoor track while Max was in the weight room with the machines. I took the outdoors.
I saw Lucille and her friends head out the door and started running on the road. I ran a few paces behind them but my eyes were locked on her. She and her friends ran with ease and they quickly completed their run.
The went up to the main house and I followed.
"Well look what we have here. It looks like your workout was a good one, Jaxon. But I don't think you worked these three out enough." My dad called from the porch looking at the three barely sweaty teens in front of him.
"That's because we're trained since we're five and we do this or more every day." Nathan spoke up.
"Right on." My dad nodded at him pleased. "Looks like you're going to have to train harder." He winked at me showing he was teasing. I rolled my eyes and took off my shoes throwing them in the porch. "Letting the wolf out?"
"Yep, he's restless." I took off my coat and placed it on the stairs.
"Jaxon!" I looked up to see Aunt Tay making her way over to me. She placed a twine bracelet with a small gem in the middle of it on me. "Try this. Lucille has one. It's a reverse spell that helps after your clothes are shredded. So when you shift you don't have to worry about your clothes. Your mom will thank me." She winked. "Try it out."
I nodded and stood back from the porch. I let me wolf's energy flow through me and felt him leap out from within me and landed on my four paws.
"Holy cow he's huge." Angie gasped. "Is it rude of me to ask to pet him?"
"Yes." Nathan said through gritted teeth causing Lucille to laugh and my wolf stomped on the ground and walked over to her and nudged her arm. She petted my head and I nuzzled into her side.
"Their wolves suit each other. Lucille's is pure white to his black." Tay said as she sat down on one of the rocking chairs. I shifted back and to my surprise I was still fully clothed. "See? Pretty nice, huh?"
I looked at Lucille, my wolf wanting to run with her but I didn't want to ask. She looked back at me shyly then looked away. "Omg, just go run together." Angie said pushing Lucille into me.
I took Lucille's hand and we made our way down the stairs. She glanced up at me nervously and took a step back about to shift. I waited because I wanted to see her shift into her wolf form. She went to shift when her eyes suddenly went huge and a scream came from her as she fell to the ground.
