Alex always made it seem so effortless, but that would be years of practice that she had gotten. You sighed, considering giving up on the vase/bowl/plate that was forming on your pottery wheel. Don't be mistaken, this started as a cup, and at this point you figured giving up would be showing mercy to the poor clay. Alex smiled teasingly towards you, her eyes shining with devious delight.

See, after one night of rabbit holing into pottery videos, you wanted to try it out for yourself. And who is better to ask than the person that fights with literal pottery tools. However, Alex had found it rather amusing when you kept getting clay everywhere, refusing to help you further.

'I have given you the tips I had, rest is practice, (Y/n).' She smiled as you glared at her.
'You are a bad teacher; you know that right?' Alex laughed at your statement.
'And you are pretty cute when you're messy,' a teasing adoration coloured her words, 'Come here, let me guide you properly then.' She beckoned you to sit down on her seat, as she sat in front of you. You started spinning the table, hesitantly putting your hands around the block of clay Alex had just centred for you. Your looked up to Alex, hoping to see some approval of your form, but she just shook her head.

'You have to use more force, this clay is not your grandma,' she put her hands around yours, applying more pressure via your hands on the clay. You focused intently on her from, trying not to be distracted by her firm yet gentle touch on your hands. What you didn't notice was how, instead of looking at the clay herself, Alex was just looking at you. Her heart unwillingly swelled at your focused expression, and she almost wanted to ruin it, just to see have your eyes on her. Almost.

After a while of Alex basically making a cup using your hands, she released her grip. You stopped spinning the wheel as you looked at your creation. It was not perfect, at all, but it was a cup and you grinned widely at your success.

'See, that wasn't that hard.' Alex laughed, inwardly scared of the way her heart beat when she caught your smile. She hadn't wanted to admit it, but you did things to her that no one else could.
You grimaced a little.
'Alex, it was hard. I only did this,' you gestured to the wonky cup in front of you, still missing a handle, 'because you basically sculpted with my hands.' Alex laughed.
'Teamwork makes the dream work, right?' she said as she patted your arm. You shook your head in return, smiling slightly. Alex was still sitting across from you, looking at you, making your heartbeat just a little faster. Before you could think it through, you had moved forward and across the potter's wheel, pressing a quick kiss on Alex's cheek.

'Thanks for the help, Alex,' you wanted to laugh at the surprised expression on Alex's face, but before you could she had already hit your arm with her fist.
'No problem,' she muttered, not meeting your eyes. Teaching you how to do pottery had not been the problem, but the feelings that erupted after your kiss were. As Alex looked up at your face again she realized that those feelings were a problem she was willing to deal with, as long as it meant that you were near her.
