Chapter 6 | Suprise Meeting

There she is standing in the doorway eyes still looking at the floor. both her palm is on her knees, she's trying to catch her breath. her hair is a mess because of the running she took. When the manager told her that her phone was with the manager Mina don't really want to pick it up right away she doesn't really use her phone that much anyway usually Mina uses her phone just to play games or listen to music when they are on a break from practice or from music shows. But when she remembers that she is texting her Mom this morning makes her to pick up the phone even though the trip is tiring she need to go down 7 floors, Her manager is in the cafeteria which located on Ground Floor . Mina doesn't want to leave her mom on read and its been a while since the last time she was talking to her mom due to her busy schedule and her mom work there is just no time

"Nayeon unnie, manager unnie say she need to tell you someth-" Mina said finally looking up to where her members are. Her mind goes blank. all she could think was that the fact y/n is right in front of her. Y/n is standing beside Sana wearing a black sweater and blue jeans, his clothing style really doesn't change from the last time Mina saw Y/n. Mina just looked at Y/n. now that he is aware of Mina present they lock eyes. Time seems like freezing its feels like there is no other audible sound besides Mina beating heart. she can't say anything to be exact she doesn't know what to say, what do you say anyway when you just met your ex after years of being apart? it's not like you could just say Hello how are you it's just not right it's even worse if you just ignore them. 

She knows Y/n and her would meet eventually when she received the news that Y/n would join JYP. Mina even practiced a hundred times in her mind what would she says if the time come. what she didn't expect was the first meeting would be in front of her members who don't know their past and Mina doesn't feel like she was ready to explain yet. After what feels like hours of reasoning but in reality just a few seconds she decides what she thought the right thing to do right now

Mina already make up her mind about what to do. She approaching her member who is now sitting on the floor seemingly interested in Y/n. Mina walked toward breaking the eye contact with Y/n.

"Mina come here" Sana said standing beside y/n. when Mina was already in front of them Mina Extended her hand toward Y/n He looks confused about what mina was doing and so was sana. Y/n Reach mina's hand in a handshake.

"Hello, I'm Mina" Y/n puzzled look turned into a hurt his smile faded

The second Mina said those word Y/n body when stiff he thought meeting Mina again would be a wonderful reunion between Friends. Y/n was already accepting the fact that He and Mina might not be able to become a couple again those ideas was already buried years ago when he realize that longing for her just made him hurt even more. Y/n was okay being her friend because despite the breakup Y/n was still thankful that Mina come into his life. She was the one that bought him a meal when they done with practice. She was the one who congratulate him when the monthly evaluation show Y/n was doing a great job. She literally was his savior when he was about to give up. Mina pretending to forget him was hurtful its mean that she want to forgot all those memories Y/n cherish the most. The memories that made Y/n keep going to achieve his dream to become a Popular soloist Mina Erase that memories

Gathering his composure Y/n trying to keep calm He doesn't want to face mina right now. he just wants to run anywhere just not with her. He was looking forward to this meeting with Mina But instead of reconciliation, she did that. Want to end this encounter quickly Y/n pretend to introduce himself

"Hello Im y/n I'm the new soloist here I hope we get along." Y/n said looking at Mina still confused and hurt but still trying to smile

Their interaction was weird from Twice Member perfective. Mina who looks like about to cry couldn't hold eye contact with Y/n who still has a defeated look on his face

Mina knew that when she said those words she was hurting Y/n the look on his face made mina want to cry. The loving face that Y/n usually has when Y/n was with Mina or when they were joking with each other years ago was gone now replaced with a sad smile

"Sana I'm about to leave can you tell your friends there" Y/n whisper to Sana doesn't want to disturb other people who are having conversations on their own and doesn't want Mina to hear.

"Im so sorry Y/n," Sana said with an apologetic look, she know Y/n was hurt by the thing that Mina did but she can't do anything about it either. "it's okay, it doesn't really matter anymore see you soon" Y/n replied. "want me to go with you? you still don't know the place around here" Sana insists. "It's okay I already took a lot of your time and your practice is not over yet anyway, thanks for the offer tho."

"Y/n Wait" Mina was about to say something but Y/n already walked out the door leaving Sana and Mina Still standing where they were at.
