You were chilling in your bedroom, enjoying some floor time. This was a typical night for you. You'd scroll on Tiktok or Instagram until you got overstimulated then lie down in bed for restless slumber.

Sighing, you scroll past another Vampire dad POV on your FYP. You decided it was time to sleep and got up to get under your covers.

An hour passed. Then another. Then another.

You hadn't been able to fall asleep all this time. Images and thoughts of vampires were clouding your mind.

"Maybe I should get up and watch Twilight," you thought out loud.

"Maybe you shouldn't," a male voice echoes.

You shot up to a sitting position, worried that a serial killer had climbed through your bedroom window. That would make a solid POV for TikTok.

"Y/n, no need to look so scared," the voice sounded, "it's me."

Squinting your eyes to adjust to the dark, you make out an average-height man in a slightly wrinkled suit standing in your open closet. You recognize the man as Dirk, your supportive mentor. He exits the closet and sits at the foot of your bed, a respectable distance away from you.

"You seem restless y/n, why don't we try some mindfulness practice to calm your mind and relax," Dirk says with a small smile.

"My mind is already full Mr. Dirk," you tell him. "I mean it's full of lyrics to Taylor Swift and Tiktok audios but it is full."

Dirk chuckles and stands up from your bed. "Mindfulness doesn't have anything to do with that y/n. It is a practice to feel more grounded and peaceful," He explains. "There are many ways to practice mindfulness like yoga, art, or even journaling." He pauses, allowing you to soak up the information. "Which do you think would be most supportive y/n?"

You consider the options by doing a quick pros and cons list that you learned from Jon, your sleep paralysis BHS. "Let's do yoga," you decide.

"Perfect!" Dirk claps his hands together and walks over to your closet, grabbing a couple of yoga mats. He sets the up on the floor of your bedroom and invites you to join him.

Dirk pulls out his phone and finds some poses on Pinterest for you two to try out.

"How about this one?" He asks, "it looks simple enough."

Dirk rolls up the yoga mats after wiping them down because he is a sanitary man.

"Well y/n," Dirk says "I hope this mindfulness practice was supportive. Remember I'm always waiting around the corner, or in this case waiting in the walls, in case you need my help." He backs away into your closet and shuts the door.

You run over and throw open the door.

He was already gone.

Slightly disappointed you didn't get to say a proper goodbye to Mr. Dirk Miller you get back under your covers.

Your dreams were filled with pressed suits, receding hairlines, and funny names.

It was the best sleep you've had in a long time.
