*I was polishing with my elbow a golden doorknob that had the name, "Willow and Jane". It looked very shiny, this would be enough to cover up the act*

"Phew, this outta do the trick!" *I said with confidence with my hands in my waist. *

"Link! You almost done there?" *Shouted Mark in the kitchen, cooking eggs.*

"Coming!"

*Cleaning up the mess, I accidentally slipped off the screwdriver on the floor, as I threw the objects above in the air. Without time to react, I looked above to see the tools on the box, with someone carrying it. I scratched my head and reached my cap. I wiped off the dust on my hood and stood up.*

"You should be more careful in handling these. Come, breakfast's ready."

*Mark looked at me with a plain face. He placed the box on my desk and pulled my hand to the kitchen. I then smelled the lovely scent of chocolate milk and cooked scrambled eggs. I put my cap on the table and started to eat.*

"Mmmh! I love this!" *I said in delight, while drinking the chocolate milk."

"Hurry up, you finished the doorknob? Miss Jane will be arriving soon. You don't want her to notice her husband's doorknob broken.... for the fourth time." *said Mark while rubbing the table.*

*I swallowed the eggs and replied.*
"Y-yeah, I finished it, it looked exactly the same from what I remember, plus, Miss Jane's 89, I guess she won't clearly notice some difference from the doorknobs."

Mark: Finish off your breakfast. The diner's opening this minute.
Link: This early? It's a Saturday? What's the occasion?
Mark: Boss contacted me, he said his family reunion's gonna happen there, aaaand the family of that family, in short, the diner's gonna get packed.

*I spat the chocolate milk in surprise.   I rubbed my mouth and asked-*

Link: Wait what- like now-now?
Mark: Right now we're 5 minutes late.

*I quickly ran and took my bag and rushed outside the apartment. I went down the stairs because the elevator would take so long. When I arrived at our usual bike parking spot, I saw Mark wearing a helmet and holding another one.* "What took you so long Link?" *He smiled at me and threw the helmet at me.* "Think fast-"

*I was yet to notice the helmet approaching me, and as a result, I got hit in the head. But that's not a problem. I jumped on the bike and patted Mark on the back.*
"Let's go Tin Can!"

*I started to hug Mark tightly as he started to pedal as fast as he can. Think of our bike as the fastest car in the world! Yep! That fast can he go. Anyways, we arrived in time as we saw our boss waiting in the entrance  of the diner.*

Boss: Impressive. Impressively late as always.
Link: That... doesn't make any sense...

*Boss threw me the keys and walked at the back side of the diner. I opened the lights and placed my bag and helmet in my locker, along with some stuff. I looked at the diner, feeling nervous. I'll be serving and washing dishes for alotta people. Then I heard a voice.. Mark, who was at my back, patted me at the head, ruining my hair.*

Link: Hey Hey! I just did the hair. The Hair!
Mark: Do I care?
Link: Pffft- I mean- Well- Uh- Well it doesn't really matter at this point. I'll just wear my cap.

*We then made a fistbump, it's a  thing we do when we start something hard, like a big event or like tests, though I wonder why tests are hard..*

*I heard a loud noise, the sound of very loud pop music, and the endless chatter. They have arrived. I quickly wore my apron and hairnet. And I stood in the kitchen... waiting for impact.*

*It was a long day, Mark shutted down because of being overworked, so I did all the work. Solo. Mark  already did the cooking, while I did the washing. I took a glance  and thought it was the Leaning tower of Pisa in front of me. I took a deep breath and looked at my hands.
"You ready?"
*Alright. I approached the kitchen sink. But all of the sudden, Mark startled me.*
Mark: You know you can't finish those dishes.. right?
Link: MARK! I thought you were charging-
Mark: Charging?
*I pointed his cord that was plugged in the wall.*
Mark: That's impossible, I rarely charge. My battery lasts for months even.
Link: Prolly your glitch or something.. though nothing like this ever
happened, pulling that aside.

*I looked at the tower of dishes.. now with some help, I can easily finish this! I then blinked my eye for a second and saw a horrible sight.

Link: THE DISHES- IT MULTIPLIED!

*The boss gave us a thumbs up and laughed on his way out.*

Boss: After this, i'll be giving you brats your paychecks, where's your parents?

*Wasn't expecting that question, without hesiation, I quickly lied.*  "Ooh, they're in Manila-  they'll be home tommorow, " *I wasn't gonna tell him the truth that i've been abondoned. I'd die than rather be trapped in an orphanage.*

Boss: I'll be in the corner waiting for you boyos..

Mark: Now then, shall we start?
Link: Yeah!

*It took us an hour to wash the dishes, but atlast we finished our tasks. I headed to Boss' office and asked for the paycheck.*

Boss: Here you go, and here's an extra for managing the diner, really loved it if there were more kids like you, today's children are really problematic these days, being overdramatic. When I was your age-

*I left immediately while I can to escape Boss' usual talks. I was really excited we got paid. I left the diner to see Mark waiting outside with the bike. Excited, I showed him the envolopes the contained the money. I smilled at him and hugged him.*

Link: Gee.. Thanks for your help Mark, i've would have been a disaster without you around..
Mark: Don't mention it.
Link: Yeeaaahh, I sure do love my coolest brother here! Even if he's a robot who scolds me around when I screwed up- *Mark punches me in the  arm, probably offeneded?*
Link: Oww! That hurts-
Mark: Well, where would I be without you?
Mark: Anyways, we can pay the rent now, and fix that doorknob

*Instead of using the bike, we decided  to walk home. The cool breeze and the glowing stars of the night gave me cool chills, it was peaceful.  It gave me a feeling, a warm feeling. I looked at Mark, and I was right. He was the coolest brother. Where would I be  without him?*
