Teen Wolf x MCU Crossover

New York City gets way too hyped over its superheroes.

Isaac Lahey's only been on the East Coast for about a week, and he's already reached this conclusion far too many times. He was expecting some sort of quiet culture shock after moving here from California, more specifically from leaving Beacon Hills to go anywhere, but still. Of course it's cool that Captain America is still alive after fighting in the Second World War. Of course it's neat that Iron Man is smarter than all of them combined.

That doesn't mean that Isaac has to buy into all the hero worship nonsense. The way he sees it, they're just getting praised for what's getting him killed, and Isaac has never been one for hypocrisy. So yeah, he can't really muster up the energy to think it's totally life changing that Clint Barton has superior senses that let him shoot arrows really fast. Isaac has better reflexes, which should earn him a spot on anyone's all-star lineup, but instead the arrows are spiraling towards his heart, not those of his enemies.

Yeah, it's not really the perspective shared by anyone else in the city. There are still people who don't like the Avengers, of course, New York thrives on being able to be contrary whenever and wherever possible, but no one's quite got Isaac's outlook on it.

Mainly, that's because no one in New York is a werewolf, or at least no one's revealed themselves as one yet. Isaac thinks he found more supernaturals of his breed in France, but then again, he was looking for them there.

Isaac has left France far behind, and Beacon Hills as well. This is his second fresh start in not so long a time, and he's hoping that this new beginning will actually stick. In New York City, being strange won't get you looked at twice. Given Isaac's penchant for glowing eyes and slicing claws, that's a definite point in New York's favor. Plus, his French accent is terrible, and he doesn't much feel like being mocked anymore just because he can't understand which vowels are supposed to be pronounced and which are supposed to stay silent forever.

Isaac is a first year in college by now, a point he never really thought he'd reach. Before he received the bite, Isaac didn't really have that much of a future in mind. After he entered the world of the supernatural, it kind of seemed like he'd play it by ear for as long as he could as long as he wasn't murdered by hunters before he got the chance to explore any further.

Now, though? Isaac's finally daring himself to set down roots. He's a student at Columbia University, and although the coursework is hard as hell, Isaac is pushing himself to make it. Maybe he can be a smart kid after all. It's not like anyone ever gave him the chance to prove it before now.

With life in university, though, Isaac is learning all the peculiarities of living in New York City, which brings him back to the superhero obsession once again. He's out in a coffee shop with friends, all of them squinting at laptop screens and pretending they definitely know calculus. Integrals are a piece of cake, you know? Just don't involve too many absolute values or he may lose his mind.

So, when Isaac is sipping his cup of coffee and finds his group study session interrupted by another news story blaring from the flickering TV in the corner of the shop, he can't really find it within himself to care about the latest superhero rescue. Not in the slightest.

This is apparently a point of contention in his new friend group, and Isaac is quickly called out for not subscribing to the same superhero obsession as everyone else.

"Look," one of them says, "What's wrong with thinking the Avengers are cool? Don't tell me you haven't wondered what it would be like to join the team."

"I don't know," Isaac mutters with a small touch of bitterness, "maybe risking my life all the time for people who wouldn't do the same for me isn't really my cup of tea."
